Is this the end for Aquarius? Today, series creator John McNamara announced NBC is moving the rest of season two to Saturday night.
Set in the 1960s, the crime drama centers on a experienced LA homicide detective ((David Duchovny) and his younger colleague (Grey Damon) as they investigate Charles Manson (Gethin Anthony) and his cult of followers.
On Twitter, McNamara said the rest of season two will now air on Saturdays, starting on August 27th:

This could be an indication that NBC is ready to cancel Aquarius. During season one, the network moved the series to Saturdays. And so far, season two ratings have been low, with the show earning an average of only .41 in the 18-49 demo and 2.178 million viewers.

This show is fascinating and very complex. What I thought was just a “Manson” show has evolved into an amazing look back at the turbulent 60s with political races, dirty politics and assassinations, racial tension, sexual exploration and of course, Manson (and the Beach Boys). This show deserves another season!
This is it for my household no more getting invested into a show just to have it cancelled. We have decided that if the one and only network show left that we watch gets cancelled. Then we are canceling our satellite television service. We are one of the few left in our family and friends who haven’t cut the cord. This will be the final straw for me. There are to many options anymore for television entertainment that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Just to keep taking programming away and charging outrageous prices.
I liked it too, but the finale was not much of a finale. Regarding who cancels their paid for TV, good God, cancel satellite anyway. I doubt programming cares one way or the other who pays for TV or not since this is a free show. I cut the cord at least 8 years ago, paid a total of $30 so far in 2016 which includes movies and a couple of TV shows like this only bc I wasn’t around during network times when it was airing. This is a terrific show; please do not cancel it. Maybe you should rethink the importance of ratings. Old people have more money than kids and kids spend their time playing video games instead of watching TV. The number of kids watching doesn’t mean as much as it once did.

I think the show will be cancelled because they ruined an otherwise good cop show by putting too much Charlie Manson crap in it. That is what is killing the show.

I absolutely love this show! As a child when President Kennedy was assainated, I remember all of these headlines of the 60’s. Charles Manson and the LaBianca-Tate murders were so horrendous, everyone was shocked. Nixon getting in as president and his cronies are all set into place with this awesome televison show. I think David Duchovny is so great as Detective Sam Hodiak. I love the stories behind the headlines- how the disturbed Manson got his girls and brainwashed them into believing his reality. I love this show not just because of the story but because of the history. I wish tv shows like this weren’t automatically cancelled when the ratings aren’t where they think they should be. You are fighting so many different forms if entertainment and those of us who follow shows like this and the Astronauts wives love them for the story and the history. We are loyal and that should mean something.

I think it’s my fault. Honest to doG, I am the Kiss of Death to anything worth buying, watching or regularly engaging with. If I like it, buy it regularly, watch it all the time or use it exclusively, trust me, it will be discontinued.
