Last season, NBC tried a very unconventional approach with Aquarius by releasing the entire season online and then airing episodes on television. Supposedly, most people still watched the show on TV (to low ratings). Will the show perform any better in season two? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.
Set in 1960s Los Angeles, Aquarius, revolves around the generational conflict between an experienced homicide detective (David Duchovny) and an idealistic undercover vice cop (Grey Damon). The rest of the cast includes Gethin Anthony, Emma Dumont, Claire Holt, Michaela McManus, Brian F. O’Byrne, Chance Kelly, Cameron Deane Stewart, and Madison Beaty.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Cult life and “free living” seems easy. The show needs to be completed for those who didn’t live through this era.

I just watched Aquarius season 2 finale. Loved it! I love shows depicting true events. When I was in my 20’s I read the book, Helter Skelter. Although I realize the series is not an accurate account of everything that happened in the 60’s it does show the turbulence in America during the time period. I think the series is great, I watched the series on the NBC app when I could just relax at a time convenient for me, I hope it is renewed!,,
I absolutely LOVE this show, and there better be a third season! Maybe it’s because I am part of that generation and remember the Manson Family murders vividly, but everything about this show is right on…….the writing, the acting, they’ve got the feeling of the times down perfectly. I was/am a hippie, and never consider the Manson Family as hippies……just very sad, sick, hopeless people. Hippies were about love and peace, not hate and war….and definitely not about killing. I agree, they should have hung them all…….can’t wait for the third season of this great show!
I hope they will release a third season. I would love to see Hodiak going after the offenders of this horrific crime. All the actors are terrific and the show has been very realistic. The seventies was a turbulent time ( I know, I lived through it) and I remember this crime very well, after Manson, being a Hippy was not ‘in’ any longer. It is a shame that Manson never got the death penalty due to change of laws and some of the killer girls are still free today.
This is a great show! All of the acting is top notch and excels in delivering the fear and unsettling feelings that we had when the Manson story broke years ago. We demand another season!
