canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Aquarius

Aquarius TV show on NBC: canceled or renewed?Network: NBC
Episodes: 26 (hour)
Seasons: Ongoing

TV show dates: May 28, 2015 — September 10, 2016
Series status: Cancelled

Performers include: David Duchovny, Gethin Anthony, Grey Damon, Emma Dumont, Claire Holt, and Chance Kelly.

TV show description:
This dramatic thriller series takes place in 1967 in Los Angeles, two years before the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders of 1969.

LAPD Homicide Detective Sam Hodiak (David Duchovny) is a decorated World War II vet who barely recognizes the city that he’s now policing. Long hair, cheap drugs, rising crime, protests, free love, police brutality, Black Power, and the Vietnam War are all radically remaking the world that he and the Greatest Generation saved from fascism some 20 years ago.

Emma Karn (Emma Dumont), the 16-year-old daughter of a former girlfriend, goes missing in a sea of hippies and Hodiak agrees to find her. He faces only hostility, distrust and silence. He enlists the help of Brian Shafe (Grey Damon), a young and idealistic undercover vice cop who’s been allowed to grow his hair out. Shafe infiltrates this new counterculture to find her.

The generational conflict between the two is immediate and heated, yet they’re both dedicated officers. They soon realize that the need to bring Emma home is more urgent than they first thought. She has joined a small but growing band of drifters under the sway of a career criminal who dreams of being a rock star — Charles Manson (Gethin Anthony).

Series Finale:
Episode #26 — I Will
A newly “retired” Hodiak tracks down the serial killer who has been tormenting him for months, without the protection and authority of his police position. Manson sends Tex, Sadie, Emma, and Patty  to 10050 Cielo Drive, where they are swept up in one of the most infamous crimes in the country’s history.
First aired: September 10, 2016

I love the show. I lived back when this was happening and it does cause real raw emotion at times to remember the things that happened then. But they are doing a damn good job of recreating the real deals. Talk about reality TV, this is it. It’s history. More than likely they are having to tone down the whole reality of this time era ! I do want the show to continue. Love the cast they play the characters so well. But like the others that made comments; I waited all week for Thursday to come to watch the… Read more »

I think the show needs to be taken off the air immediately. The shooter in South Carolina was a fan of Charles Manson and Helter Skelter. Just as the Confederate Battle Flag needs to be removed so must any references to the Charles Manson and the evil he inspires. This show must go!

Really? South Carolina is going to ruin everything.. I am very fascinated by the Manson family, but I’m not some sick perverted person who is going to shoot up a church.. I am from Ms, and because of this sick person, we are losing our state flag, because some have turned it into a hate flag, or country is going to hell in a hand basket! No one has freedom of anything.. If you don’t like the show don’t watch it. History is history..

Wendy from Ms, I’m from Louisiana and I 100% agree with you!!!!!! This is a very entertaining TV series. A great break from all the stupid reality shows. I love it! I grew up in the Manson era, I remember the nightly news casts, this is not that, this show is entertainment. The actors are perfectly cast and keep the audience wanting more….

I am having trouble following; I don’t like it. I keep wondering if there is any relationship between the story presented and history. Certainly in my memory Charles Manson is someone who should not get one iota of publicity as long as he lives. Or perhaps we of that generation don’t like seeing ourselves as the idiots we probably were. Not groovy!

We need a serious show detailing some of the chronicles of the sixties. Emma Dumont plays a perfect match for the innocence and vulnerability of the teenagers looking to find a world that is more meaningful than their parents version. They were easy prey for the likes of men who spoke in riddles and promises of a new utopia. The first episode was the best as it pushed a thin line of censorship with its true raw reality. Songs like “White Rabbit” and “Paint it Black” really gave the show the icing on the cake. It’s too bad they couldn’t… Read more »

I like this show. It has a real feel of the 60s decade. The costumes are great! I hope to see more seasons. I LOVED watching the episodes in advance via NBC.

I like the show. My big question is: are they letting the real Charles Manson watch the show? Does he have any ‘creative’ input?

This show is awesome. The acting is great and the stories are also great. Why must quality shows always be on the chopping block. Keep this show on.

THIS SHOW ROCKS! I have watched all of the episodes. David Duchovny and the key cast is fantastic. The show is frightening, funny, sad and so very interesting. David Duchovny is perfection in the role of 60s’ detective. He looks the part and has that 60’s detective intelligence/humor/swagger that makes the show. Also, the gal who plays Charmaine…amazing. Undercover guy is a great actor and just so natural….and kick ass. Please keep this show going…I’d personally love to see how they progress towards 1969. This show isn’t glorifying Manson, it’s speaking to a time and showing these two very different… Read more »

I want the show to continue. But how about letting the loyal watchers know the day & time. I was so disappointed when they didn’t show it Thursday. I lived in this era and it can be raw at times making me feel the emotion of that era again. But it is reality and a lot better than watching stupid family’s putting on makeup and fussing etc. Yes we all hate Charlie Mansion even to this day for his evil beyond evil. It is hard for me to watch that part sometime, but it is part of that time. I… Read more »

The good news is that the show has been renewed. The bad news is that the world is full of Charlie Mansons. They are the ones that sneak up on the vulnerability of those that they come in contact with and ploy their prospects with seduction. Isis could be a Charles Manson, recruiting people who have nothing more to live for than to fight for someone’s new radical ideas. Charles Manson was an instigator, musician, philosopher, and a master manipulator. There will always be these kinds of mind controlling people in every society as long as the human race exists.… Read more »
