It wasn’t a great start for the new series but Awake still outperformed the premieres of (essentially-cancelled) The Firm, and (cancelled) The Playboy Club, and Prime Suspect. If the show can stay at this level of ratings, it’s got a very good chance of being renewed for a second season. It’s amazing how poor a show’s ratings can be on NBC and still be one of the best rated shows on the network.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Awake TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
LOVE this show! Smart premise, great writing, terrific acting and thoroughly intriging!!!
Fell in love with Jason Isaacs’ portrayal of Brodie in Case Histories. I tuned in to see what he might make of a different kind of detective but I am enjoying the show even beyond his wonderfully engaging and heartbreaking performance. The writing is intriguing and the cast is excellent, particularly the young man playing Rex. I hope NBC will stick with it.
Love tbis show! However, it is against Mentalist and the new show, Scandal. Lots of compeition. However, I like this how so much I chose not to watch Scandal. My DVR will only handle two shows at a time. Hoping this show is given a chance and is renewed!
This show was so confusing. I stopped watching it after the second episode and I must not be the only one as the ratings showed that. Cancel this show, keep it, I will not watch it
AWAKE is one of the smartest series on today’s TV. It is so well written and the way Jason Isaacs performs is First class, that definitevely raises the bar for other programs. In deed the whole cast is fabulous. The psicology behind each scene makes it so real and believable. I totally vote for a Second Season, we need excellence on TV like AWAKE.
I like the premise and I like the care and craft of the writing. It is very thought provoking and engrossing. This show is so good to me and I will cry if it gets cancelled!!!! Why do the really good shows get cancelled and the brain dead shows run for 10+ seasons? Why indeed.
I love this show, it makes my brain function and think every time I’m watching this. I don’t understand why this good show is going to be cancel.
LOVE this show. So refreshing…not your run of the mill cop show. Am so tired of the reality shows and the unfunny comedy shows. NBC needs to give this show a chance.
LOVE it-leave it alone!
Im really enjoying Awake and hope that it doesnt get canceled.
This is one of the most inventive shows in a long time. I hope it lasts into a second season.
Please do not cancel Awake.
Awake is the best TV show today.
My teenage son and I tune in each week….we love this show! It’s the only thing we watch, other than news. It’s a thinking persons show….keep it! Makes for some good conversations as we try to figure out what’s going on.
It’s rare that shows of this quality come along, and even more rare that they stay on the air when they do. My husband and I are really hoping that this is one of those rare cases when quality actually wins out. Here’s hoping it gets renewed for another season.
