Warrior Nun could return to the small screen and more. The series creator, Simon Barry, is seeking the rights to the comic book franchise to relaunch the IP.
According to Deadline, the plan is to create films, television shows, and more based on the popular comic series. Warrior Nun aired on Netflix for two seasons before it was canceled.
The cast, which included Alba Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner, Tristán Ulloa, Thekla Reuten, Sylvia De Fanti, and William Miller, is not expected to return for the new projects at this time.
Barry said the following about reviving Warrior Nun:
“Returning to the Warrior Nun universe is something I’ve been thinking about since the original series aired. We have a fabulous opportunity not only to dive into more fantastic stories from elements of the Warrior Nun universe, but also to bring our incredible global fanbase of nunkind more of what they loved from the comic book series.”
This is not the first time a push to revive the series has been in the works. In 2023, an executive producer announced a possible film trilogy.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this Netflix series? Would you watch a new series if it was made?
