It may be time to check in to see how Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) are doing from Boy Meets World. TVLine reports that the Disney Channel is considering doing a follow up TV series.
The new project is tentatively titled Girl Meets World and would revolve around the pre-teen offspring of Cory and Topanga. The characters were married at the end of the ABC TV show and they moved to New York so that Topanga could pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Disney is talking to Savage and Fishel about reprising their roles. There’s been no mention about any of the other actors joining the project but one would guess they might be at least offered guest spots. It’s hard to imagine Shawn (Ryder Strong), Eric (Will Friedle), or Mister Feeny (William Daniels) being too far away from the high school sweethearts.
Boy Meets World ran for seven seasons on the alphabet network and ended in May 2000. It was recently announced that a reunion of the cast and crew would be held as part of the ATX Television Festival in Austin next June. It appears that they may have a lot to talk about.
What do you think? Would you like to see a follow up to Boy Meets World? Which characters would you like to see return?
