The alphabet network has renewed Sunday night drama Brothers & Sisters for a fifth season. As you may have heard, there are big changes in store for the TV show.
Brothers & Sisters revolves around the Walker family as they deal with their own personal dilemmas and run the family business, Ojai Foods. The ABC cast includes Calista Flockhart, Sally Field, Dave Annable, Emily VanCamp, Kerris Lilla Dorsey, Luke Grimes, Luke Macfarlane, Matthew Rhys, Maxwell Perry Cotton, Patricia Wettig, Rachel Griffiths, Rob Lowe, Ron Rifkin, and Balthazar Getty.
While the ratings this season are down from last year, the decrease isn’t dramatic (unlike most everything on the show). Last season, Brothers & Sisters averaged a 3.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.87 million viewers. So far, the ABC drama’s averaged a 3.0 in the demo and 9.23 million viewers.
The show’s now been renewed for a fifth season. No word on how many installments ABC will order but a full season of 22-24 episodes is expected.
However many episodes there are, they will likely be full of changes. Lowe is leaving the series later this season and Flockhart is supposedly going to be cutting back the number of episodes she’ll do. In addition, Gilles Marini, who plays the boyfriend of Sarah Walker (Griffiths), may become a series regular next season.

I hate that my Favorite Show,Brothers & Sisters has been Cancelled ! Always looked forward to Sunday Night.Will no longer get hooked on a show especially ABC !!! Too much Reality CRAP on T.V.I thought it was a high rated show ? Could someone explain ?

I love B and S it is my best favorit show.i can’t watt to see the 5 season.
I Absolutely LOVE this show..I would really like them to shorten up on the discusting GAY scenes .. I have been a very long time fan of Sally Fields so anything she does has my interest . I love Sarah’s part because she is so down to earth where as Kitty is an idiot and doesn”t fit in.. The show is amazing & I have watched it from the start and my Tool & Die husband even watches it with me and loves the show too. Please don”t cancel my most Favourite Show…
Brother’s & Sister’s is the only program that I really, really must watch!!!! Everytime I find a program I love, it gets cancelled. I hope they don’t cancel this, it would be a shame. We certainly don’t need any more reality shows!
This is truly ONE OF THE BEST night time series written. My teenagers starting watching it with me, so we had to buy the seasons to start over. Then just the other night my husband saw us watching it and we had to start ALL over from the 1st episode of the 1st season. HOW MANY SHOWS CAN SAY THAT?! And my husband is a diesl mechanic and build muscle cars, LOL he’s no pansy! 🙂 Plesae keep the show going.

Oh NO!! “Brothers and Sisters” was our Sunday night highlight for 5 years! Such a fantastic cast , wonderful writers and actors! How could they cancel it?? Say it isn’t true!!
I l0ok forward to Sunday night and watching Brothers and Sisters. It is the only show I watch other than Dancing with the Stars. I am so happy it has been renewed. If there is ever a chance that it could be canceled in the future, maybe an earlier time frame would enhance the number of viewers. If the replacements are as well suited to the program as the present are, in my eyes, it will still be a hit. Please don’t cancel.
I am very glad the show will continue , I look forward to Sunday night line up with Brothers and Sisters, I have watched this show from the very beginning, I would hate to see any of the actors leave the show, they all make the show interesting.

This series is one of the best that I have seen in a long time, i look forward to every episode and so can’t wait for lots more. I saw one episode and have been hooked ever since, after I saw there were a few seasons already I just had to run out and get them. I just can’t get enough. This series I think has something for everyone..the issues the family deals with are real issues that familys may face. Why does it take so long for a season to come on dvd when the series has ended? I have been waiting for season 5 forever and it still isn’t out. Season 6 will end soon and we don’t even have season 5 yet. Can you explain this to me?

@yvonne carey: The reasons vary. Typically this means that the previous season set didn’t sell very well.
I love the show, have watched entire series. now waiting with great expectation to see season 5. I love Robert – he should nt leave, no other man will do next to Kitty. Just pl slow down on the gay parade – sometimes it gets too much. pl bring in some kind of stable dad, like the one from the OC. Anyhow love love love the fam.
