The Alphabet Network is at home in Shondaland. TV Line reports The Catch TV show on ABC has been renewed for a second season. When the series was not included in ABC’s early season, fans feared The Catch would be cancelled.
A high-stakes private investigator/cat-and-mouse drama, The Catch features Mireille Enos as Alice Vaughan, who runs an excluse P.I. and security firm, Anderson/Vaughan, with her best friend and partner Valerie Anderson (Rose Rollins). When Alice’s fiancé, Christopher Hall (Peter Krause) targets swindles her out of 1.4 million dollars and disappears, she learns he is the Mr. X she has been tracking for her clients — master con artist Benjamin Jones. Alimi Ballard, Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Sonya Walger, and Elvy Yost also star.

Whew! Since every one of my favorite shows was cancelled this year, I thought the Catch which has won my heart with the cat and mouse game was destined for doom as well. But according to this website it got renewed for Season 2. I just hope they don’t put it on some random night, then air it and pull it and air it and pull it which kills a show. Great show. The story is captivating and very well written, the characters are interesting and credible, it’s just a very good show unlike many out there.Very happy it’s getting renewed.
I just discovered this show on Hulu. I love it!
I watch it because my wife wants to share a show. But she sees the ridiculousness of the overarching plot and the in-show mini plots are utterly superficial and simplistic. The two central characters are talented, but they have so little to work with. And having a strong woman role act in direct conflict of her base beliefs is really disrespectful of women everywhere. Sorry to see it is being renewed.

Is this the Elyse Gordon of Manhattan Beach?!? I knew you had good taste, but am thrilled we share a show and David likes it too! Wow! I literally love it and am bummed I have to wait a week to see it again. Aren’t the actors fantastic?!? And the writing…I was just crying over the shows they cancelled when I saw this was renewed. I watch it just to see Peter Krause. I never usually get hooked on shows but make time for this one.

I was hooked from the 1st show. Originally thought it would be too lame. Surprise! Just when you think you figured it out..BOOM..another twist.
A modern take on cat&mouse…keep it up ABC. Good call..
When this show initially aired I though it wouldn’t last. How could they possibly make a show with what seemed like such a weak plot. My husband kept watching it. Week after week it gets better and better. The plot twists and turns surprise me every week. They keep me coming back for more. Glad ABC is renewing it.
Maybe those who aren’t enjoying it are missing the point that the female lead is very, very clever.
Frankly, I’d only watch a second season if John Simm were to return. He’s the only reason I’m watching it in the first place. Not a series that would have been on my radar at all otherwise.
I can’t believe that this series was renewed for a second season, better series have been cancelled, I’m pretty sure it’s a pet Project for minorities within the network, otherwise I can’t explain why they decided to renew a series with bad acting and even worse scripts.
