canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Chasing Life: EP Shares What Season Three Would Have Been

by Regina Avalos, October 15, 2015

Chasing Life cancelled or renewed

Chasing Life was cancelled by ABC Family last week, and fans were devastated to hear the news. The series aired two seasons on the cable channel and there was a direction for season three of the series starring Italia Ricci already planned.

Patrick Sean Smith spoke with TV Line about the cancellation of the series. Apparently, the series was shopped around to other outlets but no one decided to save the series from the television grim reaper.

Smith shared a lot of what was planned for the series with TV Line. At the end of season two, April headed to Italy. Someone would have gone after her at the start of season three – likely her sister. She would return to Boston, get her transplant, and then a time jump would show off its success.

She would live, and she would remain friends with Dominic. The two would not get back together. Season three would have focused on the “complexities” of their relationship.

Smith had ideas generated for all of the major characters. It is clear this series had a lot more story to share. You can read the full interview at the link above.

Are you sad that Chasing Life will not continue to tell its story? Tell us what you think.

I am very disappointed that Chasing Life was cancelled. I was diagnosed last year with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and watching Chasing Life really helped me put into words how I was feeling. It was such a great show and the characters really did their research because I can attest that every emotion April (Italia Ricci) portrayed on screen are the exact emotions that played out in my life as I was fighting that beast called cancer. Please, reconsider. Or please, another network, pick it up!!

For the past few weeks i have been watching the show chasing life. While watching the first two seasons i have grown a liking to all the characters and have been bench watching… Yes i know alittle excessive, but i just love the show sooooo much!! I really want more seasons so im not left on a cliff hanger. Please i just need some kind of closer to my favorite show. Maybe finish off the story, and add a little twist in the end. I know that your basing the story off the telenovela, but it wont hurt to do… Read more »

Of course I’m bummed!! I just discovered the show on Netflix. I don’t watch regular TV I can’t keep up with when and where TV shows air. Also, I don’t like sitting through commercials. I was telling my friends about the show and they are going to start watching it too. How can they leave us hanging like that? At least do another series and give some closure to the story. Ugh!!

it was very sad to hear about the cxling .. it is series like this that give all of us disfunctional families something to keep pushing on.. even if ours at not quite as extreme it does show that steadiness and one or two strong in the group can get us all back on course… it was good acting good actors chosen for the parts and nothing over the top and a variety of issues tackled .. would have like to see the conclusion of the brother uncle situation and other decisions but maybe then to many political comments now… Read more »

With all the crap reality shows that are currently on TV, we loved this story which had so many stories. The acting was good and it was dealing with current issues i.e gays, the elderly (we loved Celeste as the mother/grandmother). Why do good shows like this not survive and we have yet another about the Kardashians….We are seriously disappointed that this great series was cancelled.

What is mentally wrong with ABC? ABCFamily wants to change it’s name to something that is so stupid and cancel a good show like Chasing Life which is just crazy stupid. Period. Dumb decisions. Noone likes the new name idea and Chasing Life has a lot of fans. Just plain stupid! I do not understand why they want to loose viewers?

Chasing Life was a good family show about families, and love and passion for family and support. It is exactly what our society needs. it was a great show and no drama which is what I loved about it. I’m angry that it has been cancelled.
