canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Chicago Justice: Season One Ratings

Published: May 23, 2017

Chicago Justice TV show on NBC: ratings (cancel or season 2?)NBC has had some great ratings success with their Chicago TV shows. Now, they’re introducing a fourth one called Chicago Justice. Will it be a hit? Is it sure to be renewed for a second season or, could it be the first in the franchise to be cancelled? Stay tuned.

Airing on the NBC television network, Chicago Justice stars Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Monica Barbaro, Joelle Carter, and Jon Seda. As the fourth series in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, this legal drama follows the prosecutors and investigators who make up the State’s Attorney’s team. The story centers on Peter Stone (Winchester), the dogged Deputy Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau. A single-minded man, Stone often goes head-to-head with Mark Jefferies (Carl), the politically savvy Cook County State’s Attorney. Rounding out the team are Assistant State’s Attorney, Anna Valdez (Barbaro), Investigator Laura Nagel (Carter), and Chief Investigator Antonio Dawson (Seda), a former detective with the Chicago PD’s intelligence unit.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/15 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS
TNT | TV Land | USA Network | WGN America

What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Justice TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?

5/23 update: Chicago Justice is cancelled. There will be no season two. Details here.

I love all the Chicago franchise shows, but Justice has quickly become my favorite. People are saying it should be cancelled because the ratings are at 1.00 but it’s because it hasn’t even been on long enough for people to truly give it a chance. As for the bull that’s being said about Monica Barbaro aka Anna Valdez, take a closer look. I love her acting. She is my favorite character on this show. I really feel her acting is so true and real, compared to more experienced actors out there. She has a really good thing going for her.

Very good. Give it a chance to make it. It has really good actors and actresses. 1 season does not give it time to become known.

This show was on the bubble in my opinion but there’s something about it that grows on you. I think it may have a chance to become a television staple if allowed to develop the characters a bit more. All shows need a bit of nip and tuck now and then to refine the cast of characters…give each more time of less…depending on their own merits. Give this show time by renewing it for a full season.

I would like to see Chicago Justice renewed. I have found that IT IS AS GOOD as Law and Order, L & O SVU. It has some very good issues and is done in style!

Your opinion is not even close to mine. If anything, Chicago Justice is an EMBARASSMENT to the Chicago Franchises and may not even keep live average ratings over a 1.00 next season. If it wasn’t for Carl Weathers, I’d have been screaming for this debacle to be CANCELLED.

Five weeks in a row with ratings under a 1.05, including 3 weeks in a row under a 1.00. NBC needs to start taking a serious look at this show that is slowly becoming an utter disaster. The ratings are almost as pathetic as Timeless. When you add in NBC renewing Shades of Blue with its pathetic ratings, NBC has a real problem. They just need to hire people with the balls to fire people.

I am a L&O junkie. I’ve seen every single episode of L&O and SVU. Chicago Justice couldn’t even hold a candle to L&O or SVU. My least favorite and weakest link on CJ is Monica Barbaro. Her acting kind of bland. She’s also not even eye candy. Is she a new comer? I’ve never seen her in anything else before.

Chicago Justice is down to a 1.17 with 5 episodes left. The show won’t finish below a 1.0 live average rating for the season, but anyone who doesn’t believe MAJOR changes need to be made to this show is fooling themselves. Even moving it to the 10 pm Monday slot may not do it. Could this show end up with worse ratings than Blindspot? We’ll find out.

I love this Chicago series as well as ALL of the Chicago productions. Keep ALL !!! And regarding Monica Barbaro… I disagree with the other person sending thoughts that she isn’t “eye candy.” She acts in a very REAL WAY. She plays the part and seems so authentic. She is a nice looking actress but intentionally doesn’t have a lot of fluff and glitter. How many women in the police officer field do? I rest my case. Lol.

Took me a while to get into the show. It’s not like the other Chicago shows (which I like) but I like this one best, it’s smarter and faster. I think they need a second season to find their stride but I think when they do itll be a great show.

I am really enjoying this show! I think the acting it’s excellent! It’s needs a second season to deepen the characters. I for one want to get to know them! It’s good to see what a prosecutor’s office goes through. It isn’t an easy job!

First episode was OK, started to watch the second episode but the story line was horrible so I turned it off in 3 minutes. Hope this is not renewed, it is a waste of air time.
