The alphabet is cutting the first season of Combat Hospital short by one episode, moving up the season (likely series) finale. ABC is cutting the 11th episode, “Brothers in Arms,” next Tuesday and will instead run the 12th installment, “Triage.” The 13th episode, “Do No Harm,” will wrap the season on September 6th.
The network hasn’t announced any plans to run the missing episode at a later date but that isn’t a surprise. Combat Hospital has been a disappointment ratings-wise and has been averaging a low 1.0 in the 18-49 demographic and 3.94 million viewers. Aside from Karaoke Battle USA, it’s the lowest-rated original series currently on the network.
The series is supposedly doing much better however in Canada, where it’s produced. While it’s hard to imagine that ABC would renew the show for a second season, Combat Hospital could continue airing north of the border. If it does, fans here in the states will likely have to wait until the episodes are released on DVD or watch/download them online.

I just happened to catch all 13 episodes of Combat Hospital recently on Showcase and I can’t believe that this show was cancelled and had such poor ratings!! It’s an amazing show and very realistic, giving u the feeling like u were actually there and what they had to do to survive both physically and mentally. Such a shame that stupid shows with no substance r still airing and re-airing and this down to earth drama series got cancelled. My wife and I love this series! Great story lines, realistic representation of life behind the wire in Kandahar. Such a shame to cancel the show, as we find very few others, worth watching. I think the network got this wrong, never advertised correctly and never gave it a proper chance.
Still waiting and hoping that this excellent show will stand another chance to continue. There are many stupid shows that make the air time but, it seems, not those that are trully well made.

PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!! Its a great story, I loved it. I would love to know how you tv guys rate the stories. Because all the stories I love only airs short periods but stupid series are repeated over and over. I’m crazy about combat hospital, flashpoint, rookie blue, bones, hawaii-5-o, trauma etc. And all theses series are either aired for only a short period or stopped. Especially on South-African airwaves. Please could you make a plan to show more Series like them.

It’s a really good show and it was very realistic. I think the show deserves another chance. There must be a reason why ratings were high in Canada but not in US. Please keep on producing the show!
Thought it was a great show with realistic episodes. Truly showed what life is like for the troops in the field. I was wondering why I had not seen it again. One of the better shows on TV. Definitely a loss to good television !!! GIVE IT ANOTHER SHOT !!!
I am so sad that this awesome show was not renewed for aother season. It showed how good Canadian programmimg could be. I bragged about how good it was, please bring it back 🙁
