canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Dallas: Season One Ratings

Published: August 9, 2012

TV ratings for Dallas on TNTCan the sons of J.R. and Bobby Ewing attract big ratings like their daddies once did with the original Dallas? On the new TNT series, there’s certainly more family fighting at SouthFork than ever before. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, and Patrick Duffy.

The TV show ratings are the best way to tell if Dallas will be cancelled or renewed for a second season. The first season of TNT’s Dallas airs Wednesday nights. There are 10 episodes.

These figures will be updated as the weeks progress so be sure to bookmark and return to this page:

Final season one averages: 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.42 million total viewers.

Episodes 01-10: Wednesday, 08/08/12
1.3 demo rating (+63% change) with 4.29 million (+32% change).
Season averages: 1.12 in the demo with 4.42 million.

Episodes 01-09: Wednesday, 08/01/12
0.8 demo rating (+14% change) with 3.24 million (0% change).
Season averages: 1.10 in the demo with 4.44 million.

Episodes 01-08: Wednesday, 07/26/12
0.7 demo rating (-30% change) with 3.25 million (-16% change).
Season averages: 1.14 in the demo with 4.59 million.

Episodes 01-07: Wednesday, 07/18/12
1.0 demo rating (0% change) with 3.88 million (+7% change).
Season averages: 1.20 in the demo with 4.78 million.

Episodes 01-06: Wednesday, 07/11/12
1.0 demo rating (0% change) with 3.63 million (+8% change).
Season averages: 1.23 in the demo with 4.93 million.

Episodes 01-05: Wednesday, 07/04/12
1.0 demo rating (-9% change) with 3.36 million (-18% change).
Season averages: 1.28 in the demo with 5.18 million.

UPDATE: TNT has renewed Dallas for a second season of 15 episodes.

Episodes 01-04: Wednesday, 06/27/12
1.1 demo rating (-15% episode-to-episode change) with 4.08 million (-14% change).
Season averages: 1.35 in the demo with 5.64 million.

Episode 01-03: Wednesday, 06/20/12
1.3 demo rating (-13% episode-to-episode change) with 4.76 million (-31% change).
Season averages: 1.43 in the demo with 6.16 million.

Episodes 01-01 & 01-02: Wednesday, 06/13/12
1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.86 million total viewers.
Season averages: 1.50 in the demo with 6.86 million.

The TV series may have debuted on the 13th but it certainly wasn’t an unlucky day for the cast and crew of Dallas. It was the most-watched TV show in its timeslot on both broadcast and cable. It had the best demo number at 9pm and, at 10pm, was tied for first place in the demo with a CSI rerun on CBS — the original Dallas’ network.

Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.

What do you think? Do you like the new Dallas TV series? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?

Didn’t watch it then, ain’t going to watch it now. What are they going to do, shoot JR again? When will Hollywood put out something NEW. Let’s bring back I Love Lucy, or The Andy Griffith show, maybe Gomer Pyle USMC. Nothing new, all rehash, been done, reruns, remakes, ……I am sick of it.

I like the new show. I would like to see some of the older characters like Pam’s sister, the lifeguard who had an affair with Sue Ellen or Lucy’s ex husband. And what about Gary and Valene? What happened to JR’s original secretary? It would feel real seeing old cast members.

Dallas rules. Larry Hagman is JR all over again, and Patrick Duffy is the perfect Bobby .

There are always new under-handed tricks at Southfork. I have all watched all three episodes twice, please renew! How did JR and Bobby get so old? They are both still magical. I love Annie as Bobby’s wife, what a breath of fresh air from Pam.
