This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
If Dallas doesn’t return, I’m thinking very seriously about cutting the TV cord and doing the internet thing. Many people are doing just that. With the dumb stuff that’s left, might as well.
Dallas was the best show on TV. Why did they cancel it? TNT must have shiffer brains. They lose and the fans lose even more. I wish it were back on TV. Such a sad thing.
TNT gets no respect for cancelling Dallas. In fact most people make sure not to watch this network because of this awful decision. Dallas should have never been cancelled. This was a great quality show. And popular well beyond the minds of TNT’s execs.
We want Dallas back! They should re-evaluate this. That was a stupid move to cancel Dallas.
The people at TNT must live under a rock and are completely illiterate. Plus, they don’t even know how to count. Yet they are the ones, in control, who have lost tons of money by cancelling Dallas. With all the fans of Dallas disappointed by this, we find our show is not on anymore.
It’s no wonder the overall ratings of TNT are tanking. With the meat heads at TNT they keep hiring, their ship will probably sink pretty soon.
ABC Network has “Blood and Oil”. Anyone that hears that name automatically thinks about DALLAS! Somebody PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back our show!!! The millions of fans just cant understand how no one yet has realized this equals millions of $$$ to a Network! To the top men at the networks: I SHOULD HAVE YOUR JOB!!!!!
Dallas is my favorite show. Please bring it back.
Still…Dallas rules. Hasn’t been a show this good ever since you cancelled it. Why not get smart and return it to TV? Hope another network realizes this.
Dallas was the best show on TV. These other shows don’t have any surprises at all. Weak plots and, Frankly, quite boring. Bring back Dallas please.
What so great about these replacement shows that TNT kept and cancelled Dallas?
Makes no sense. Dallas was watched by more people. And the people who watched Dallas were people with jobs or retirement income. The people who watch TNT’s programs now are the ones living in their parents basements.
Dallas was, bar none, the best show on TV. It was a real crime to cancel it. I hope it returns so it can bring some class back to the list of pretenders.
It would be so nice to have Dallas back on TV. Won’t you please find it in your heart to please millions of viewers?
Dallas had the right combination of story line and actors. Unbelievably entertaining. Dallas should come back to TV, it really should.
I guess TNT doesn’t want ratings. They only want kids to watch because kids spend like there’s no tomorrow. Well, tomorrow comes and your ratings are still in the tank. You need to get smart, TNT, you need Dallas back. Oh, and…those kids live in the basements of real purchasers…think about that.
Too bad TNT cancelled Dallas. It was the best show out there. I wish it would return so I could watch a quality show again.
