A&E’s new series, Damien, premiered last night. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series showrunner Glen Mazzara discussed the upcoming season and his plans for the future of the horror drama.
Damien is based off the classic 1976 horror film, The Omen.
When asked about the future of the show, Mazzara said the season one finale will be “very surprising” for viewers:
I have to say I think that finale is one of the best episodes of TV I’ve ever worked on. I’m so excited for people to see it. When you see how everything in season one comes together in that finale in a very surprising way, it’s going to kick ass.”
He added that he does have a “game plan” if the series is renewed for more seasons by A&E:
I do have a game plan and I’m not sure A&E or Fox would want me to say because I don’t want to box them into something. But we do have one and hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to tell that story. There’s a lot of story and what’s fun about writing a psychological thriller like this is that there’s not only twists and turns with the characters but there’s obviously twists and turns with the plot. If we get to tell the full story the audience will be surprised because there’s a lot of unique territory we can go into that hasn’t been told with this type of character before.”

We need to see the next series….. For it should be a movie type bases from here, since Christ does return and to show the Supernatural aspects that happen in a big way from there on…… Example: the haunting sounds of the first trumpet heard throughout the world and the others to come… Glen Mazzara mastered excellence in remaking this series come to light again… I think we need to see all aspects of the second coming to just that point of what is possibly to come… KDK
I would love to see Damien return for another season(s). It was such a good show, very captivating. I watched the show every time it came on. I still try to binge watch it when I have the time. I also told many friends and family about the show!! So sad it was canceled. I really hope there will be a comeback to Damien because I know many people would be ecstatic. ^_^
Bring DAMIEN back i binged watched it over two days and loved it.. Theres so few shows as intense,and gutsy as “Damien””Give this show a chance And advertise it promote it… Its great. Not everybody gives a darn about “Reality” shows anymore. Cheapskates. Season two longingly awaited!! Linda
Yes I would watch the second season if and when it ever come out. I thought the first season was very good.

Damien is a series you can get lost in, a classic series of movies brought to our time.
Please do not cancel this show. I am so tired of new series not being given a chance to succeed, before being canceled. It seems like the networks and cable stations barely give a show enough time to catch on. This was done really well and I and my family would like to see more.

Na, but really every time i get into a new show it gets cancelled tv networks suck they don’t give time to develop. A series should be two 12 episodes seasons at least then you know if its any good ,that’s why i rather watch movies .Sucks ….tho ,the show is good…Thumbs Down To A&E boo booo booo

Let’s hope they renew for a second season this series was incredible and I love how we join Damien 30 years later as an adult. I love the story line all of the actors truly played their parts and the season finale was Amazing !!!

The omen was one of my favourites when I was younger! Someone had to pick this up again, but doing a serious is genious! Please carry on I can’t wait till season two
