A couple days ago, Eastwick series creator and executive producer Maggie Friedman said that she was “furious” over ABC’s cancellation of the series. She’s apparently had some time to think about her choice of words and regrets the statement.
Friedman wrote, “The other day, when we were discussing the cancellation of Eastwick, I misspoke in the worst possible way. The word ‘furious’ was poorly chosen by me. You had said to me that ‘the fans are understandably furious’ and so I agreed that I was too, but the truth is, I’m not.”
She continued, “I see that word now in print attributed to me and it’s very painful, because it seems to imply I am angry with ABC and nothing could be further from the truth. They treated me really well. I am not the least bit furious, with anyone. That’s simply not the kind of person I am. Yes, I’m sad about the show being cancelled, because it was creatively fulfilling and tons of fun to make and an amazing group of people, but I’m not angry.”

Yes, I Aam VERY furious about the cancellation of this show, every wedensday I would rush home and do what I got to do before my favorite television show so there would be no interuption but, now what am I suspose to watch NOW? I can’t believe Eastwick has been cancelled!!!!! I look forward to watching this show every week. I get so frustrated when a fantastic show like this is cancelled. Please please please bring it back.
I’m very upset to that this mystical ,and fun, and funny show was cancelled. I never watch new shows because this seems to happen every time. Thank you ABC for doing it again. The other shows on at this time are awful. Please bring Eastwick back! I think it deserves to be on longer before a decision is made.
Yes..this really sucks…the show was on a crappy time thats why I recorded it and watch at a earlier time the next day with my to older daughters…We love this show and I think a different channel and time it could of had a chance!
Why does this sound like to me like, someone said to her “What were you thinking… do you not want to work in television again?!? You better get yourself some PR people to help you take that back or your show isn’t the only thing that is over!!!” I am sure she just misspoke in a bad way, but nobody in the mainstream entertainment industry can say how bad things went or how mad/upset they are without taking their future career in their hands. Of course she was furious at first. They did good work and not enough people watched.
I never missed this show! I loved it and the characters. I thought it was just getting started! Arghhh! I’m tired of all the forensic file shows, the CSI’s etc. Eastwick was a breath of fresh air that I looked forward to each week. Makes you wonder why we even bother with a network series since it can be pulled out from under you. I loved Firefly and that was gone after 13 shows. Guess I’ll stick with the cable USA network.

I’m kinda bummed. It was entertaining and I liked the characters. Flash Forward is pretty boring…i’m trying desperately to like it. cougartown? give me a break!! how lame!!!
I am FURIOUS! My daughter and I watched every week together. We looked forward to this show. Who wants to watch Cougartown, some older woman chasing your guys every week, or Flash Forward, it just got so boring…EASTWICK was enchanting, funny and we loved it.. ABC YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG AGAIN.. The public are so sick of cop shows, detective shows, hospital shows. This was different!! Bring it back, at least let the public watch the entire season. Get rid of Bones…so boring!
I am too sad about the show being pulled. I Love this show, full of mystery and DRAMA and would continue to watch it every week! Am I not out Raged? But very disappointed…Yeah….more than anything disappointed! Bring Eastwick back, or end it properly…with an ending! Don’t leave us devoted fans disappointed. I watch Cougar town too and I really think Eastwick has more potential. I am considering if I should continue to watch much more of ABC shows?
