canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Eastwick: ABC Pulls Last Two Episodes, Again!

by Trevor Kimball, July 2, 2010

EastwickThe network giveth and, unfortunately for Eastwick fans, the network taketh away.

After weeks of poor ratings, ABC decided not to order any more episodes of Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Paul Gross, and company. That essentially cancelled the show. Then, in December, ABC pulled Eastwick off the air after only 11 (installments 1-10 and 12) of the show’s 13 episodes had aired.

Last month, the network announced that they’d be burning off the 11th and 13th installments on Saturday, July 10th. Though the show’s been off the air for six months, devoted fans were happy to know they’d finally be able to watch the last of them.

The network has now changed their schedule. They’ve pulled the final episodes of Eastwick and replaced them with reruns of Scoundrels and The Gates, their struggling Sunday dramas. There’s no word if the Eastwick ladies will be rescheduled for a later date or if they might show up online.

We were able to track the episodes down months ago. Though we can’t legally post the video, you can read our detailed synopses of “Red Bath and Beyond” and the series finale, “Pampered and Tampered.” Unfortunately, they don’t wrap up the show storylines.

What do you think? Will ABC finally air the last episodes at some point? Do you still care?

Ugh – will ABC please air the last two episodes AND release “Eastwick” on DVD? “The Gates” is horrible…

I loved this show & just realized the other day that it’s been a while since it’s been on. I had to double check my DVR to may sure it was still set up to record the shows. I really enjoyed the show & will miss it. 🙁

OVER IT! That is the biggest thing about ABC I can say. I officially hate ABC. I am tired of them saying they are going to do something and not doing it. You gave us a glimmer of hope and then crush it. Don’t make an announcement unless you intend to actually do what you said you were setting out to do. This was probably the biggest jerk move you have ever made ABC. If you are trying to become the next NBC you are really starting to show it. Just finally release it on DVD with these two episodes… Read more »

Where do the networks get their ratings from? It seems like every good show that has come on recently is being pulled for lack of ratings! I think they just don’t want to pay the staff and the executives want more money! It is almost time to cancel cable all together, prices go u every 6 months and all the shows are canceled!

Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money, Men In Trees, The Forgotten, Life On Mars, The Unusuals, Defying Gravity, The Deep End, FlashForward, Eastwick, Samantha Who?, Better Off Ted, Happy Town… With all due respect C.J. ABC has poison the well so many times, that too many viewers have been burnt by that network in the past two seasons alone. Viewers always remember the last show. They mourn the cancelled ones and take their resentment out on the NEW shows. The Gates is having trouble now because of the way all the above shows were treated. It’s not the viewers… Read more »

OK, I was never an Eastwick watcher, but come on ABC, those fans of Scoundrels(which I love) and The Gates should’ve just watched or at least recorded those episodes when they first aired. It’s not like those repeats will do any better than the 2 episodes of Eastwick would’ve. And despite how you fans might feel, a boycott of ABC would just make things worse, because then the same problem will keep happening to more new shows because there would be less people giving them a chance. ANY new TV show, no matter how successful it sounds on paper, is… Read more »

Hi Everyone in the states, I’m from the Uk so could you please do me a huge favour and boycott ABC and there sponsors,
start protesting outside there HQ,
start some kind of campaign, cos something’s gotta give!!
I really don’t understand how they get away with dropping great shows like ‘Eastwick’..things have to change, as what their doing just isn’t working!
Come the revolution!
Take the power back TV viewers. !!

On behalf of Happy Town fans everywhere, I wish to express my deepest condolences. Two months ago when HT started Eastwick fans warned us about how ABC screwed over their show and that the network would do the same to HT. At the time we put down to sour grapes and ignored them. Three week later…BAM! ABC strikes again. Now The Gates fans are all scared out of their minds about how long their show is going to last. However, if ABC was willing to scrap the last two Eastwick episodes to run repeats of their struggling new shows, this… Read more »

No way!! Is this the last word–they are not going to show episodes 11 and 13 on July 10?!!! What is wrong with ABC anyway….we already set our DVR to tape them on July 10; they were listed in their lineup! Looks like ABC is being run by embiciles.

Damn this really makes me angry. Why do networks keep doing this, cancelling this show was just wrong, while stupid reality shows continue. I don”t want to see the final shows damnit, I want the networks to continue filming. This is so unfair.

I agree! I was really enjoying this show, and was very surprised that it had been cancelled. I would like to see the final episodes as well as purchase the season on DVD.

OMG – Alright already – will you just air them. How unfair is it for a network to do that – – I still can’t belive it. I was totally hooked on that show as were the rest of my family!!!!! Totally bummed about this latest lift-me-up just to knock-me-down crap 🙁
