canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

The Exorcist, Sleepy Hollow: FOX Series to Battle Grimm on Friday Nights

by Jessica Pena, May 16, 2016

FOX TV shows

FOX has scheduled some Friday night frights for the 2016-17 season. Today, the network announced The Exorcist and Sleepy Hollow will air on Friday nights during the upcoming season.

Earlier, we reported FOX has renewed Sleepy Hollow for a fourth season and ordered new drama The Exorcist.

Beginning this fall, The Exorcist will air on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Based on the 1973 film, the horror thriller stars Alfonso Herrera and Ben Daniels as two priests combating a dangerous demonic possession. Geena Davis also stars.

For the midseason, Sleepy Hollow will take the Friday 9-10 p.m. ET/PT slot.

From FOX:

Widely regarded as the greatest horror movie ever made, Academy Award-nominated “The Exorcist” terrified audiences around the world. Now, more than four decades later, THE EXORCIST returns as a contemporary psychological TV thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of terrifying demonic possession. Directed by Rupert Wyatt (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), the series stars Alfonso Herrera (“Sense8,” “The Chosen”), Ben Daniels (“Flesh and Bone,” “House of Cards”) and Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Geena Davis (“Commander in Chief,” “Thelma & Louise”).”

What do you think? Are you fan of Sleepy Hollow? Will you watch The Exorcist?

Will the impending retirements of both “The Vampire Diaries” and “Grimm” after this season ensure success for the “The Exorcist” series, or will it still be a one-season failure?
