ABC held Family Tools until the end of the season which typically means they have little confidence in it. Will the sitcom surprise them and become a big ratings hit? Will it be quickly cancelled instead? We’ll need to follow the numbers.
The first season of Family Tools typically airs Wednesday nights at 8:30pm and there are 10 episodes (cut from 13). The sitcom’s cast includes Kyle Bornheimer, J.K. Simmons, Johnny Pemberton, Edi Gathegi, Danielle Nicolet, and Leah Remini.

It was a disappointing launch for this new sitcom. It drew worse numbers than the last original episode of Suburgatory in the same timeslot two weeks earlier and lost 25% of its lead-in demo from The Middle.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
