canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Graceland: Cancelled By USA; No Season Four

by Regina Avalos, October 1, 2015

graceland-canceled

Graceland season three ended with a big cliffhanger, but fans will not see what happens next for Briggs, played by Daniel Sunjata, and his housemates. USA has cancelled the series. This means no season four.

The news came straight from the executive producer, Larry Teng, on his Twitter account Thursday morning. It is not yet known if another network will pick up the series.

Got the official word today that @GracelandTV will not be picked up for a 4th season. Love to my cast mates and all you fans. #GLProud

— Larry Teng (@larryteng) October 1, 2015

Sunjata was hopeful for a renewal. Vine Report shared his comments about the cast’s renewal hopes on Wednesday.

“That’s something that not only Briggs didn’t see coming but as we’ve now seen that season ends in the resonance of Jakes’ sudden departure. Hopefully there’s a Season 4 so we can figure out what happens. To tell you the truth, the whole cast just has our fingers crossed that there will be a Season 4. We love telling the ‘Graceland’ stories and playing these characters. I’ll be honest with you, I have not the first idea where Jeff will pick up Season 4 if we’re blessed to get one.”

The series came from Jeff Eastin. With this show’s cancellation, his relationship with USA has come to an end. He was the man behind White Collar, which aired for six seasons on USA. He called this season of Graceland “the best season we’ve had so far.”

What do you think about Graceland’s cancellation? Did you want to see what happened next to Briggs and his friends after Jake’s sudden departure?

I watched every episode! Great show and now cancelled. Not going to watch season 2 of Satisfaction. Rush was great too, and you cancelled that. Looks like Royal Pains is all that is left for your crappy channel…

This angers, me saddens me, discourages me, disgusts me….I could go on & on. This is such a good show. It’s obvious from the little contests of questions about the show that they do, that the show is not lacking an audience. The column says nothing about why it was cancelled. It suggests that the writer had some grievances with the USA Network.
C’mon Netflix – please pick up Graceland. It is left unfinished. And it has so much more to tell.

From what I have read recently the problem was a lack of funding equaling out with the ratings I believe? The network liked where everything was going, but feel that the costs didn’t “justify” a renewal sadly. And I’m with you on the netflix thing. They’ve saved quite a few shows already, and I hope they keep up that trend. Hulu seemed to have started doing it too with The Mindy Project, which was another show I love that was cancelled to soon.

I do not watch a lot of TV at all but DVR’d “Graceland” faithfully. Why on earth would USA cancel this show but renew a trashy show like “Satisfaction”? Shameful. Not to mention not even having a series finale! Beyond ridiculous!

Can’t believe they cancelled Graceland without giving us a series finale. Now we will never know what happens after Jake s unexpected departure. Very disappointed in USA. Will not be watching any more shows on this network!! Very very disappointed. Hope another station picks up this series.

Let’s be honest this was awful…. for the first two seasons, it had no direction it was all over the place at times and the acting at times was simply cringe worthy. When season 2 ended I felt that if the series was going to be canceled then good riddance. This third season however really had the series really came into it’s own and was spectacular, what a shame.

Cynthia, I agree! Satisfaction is garbage!! It only took one show before we decided it wasn’t worth watching!

No!! Please don’t cancel Graceland!! How can you leave your public like that?? My family and I love these characters! Briggs and Johnny were our favorites but they all played their parts so perfectly! Did the writers run out of ideas?? Two of us are in your ‘ideal’ age and I’d think you’d be thrilled that this show could reach that expanse of age groups! I am really angry about this but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Just hope these great actors find roles worthy of their capabilities!!

I can’t believe they would end this fantastic show. USA just sucks for doing this. Didn’t theh do GLADES the same way, or is that another network? I am very diappointed. Will coose my networks better from now on.

Very upset that there will be no Season 4 but where you have a show like Satisfaction where in my book promotes prostitution and cheating on spouses you cancel a very good show like Graceland. I do like watching Matt Passmore but not in Satisfaction, sure wish USA changes their mind and brings Graceland back!
