Pay-for-view channel Starz has announced that Gravity won’t be back for a second year. The show completed its run last week after just 10 episodes.
Gravity is a dramatic comedy that follows a group from an eccentric out-patient program for suicide survivors. Co-created by Eric Schaeffer and Jill Franklyn, the cast includes Schaeffer, Ivan Sergei, James Martinez, Krysten Ritter, Rachel Hunter, Robyn Cohen, Seth Numrich, and Ving Rhames.
Starz had high hopes for the series but it just never caught on. The season (now series) finale attracted an invisible 0.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 54,000 viewers. To no surprise, Starz has admitted that neither Gravity nor Party Down will be returning for another round.
In a statement, Stephan Shelanski, Starz’ executive VP of programming, said, “After careful consideration, we’ve decided not to continue on with subsequent seasons of Party Down and Gravity. We’re grateful to everyone involved in the shows, and are proud to have had them on the channel. Starz remains committed to aggressively expanding our original programming lineup.”

Arrrgghh!!!!! I just binge watched this on Shaw on Demand. I thought it was excellent and am super disappointed there is no second season. Many story lines left untied in the season finale. Blast!!!!

I absolutely loved this show. I thought that the writing was incredible. I’m so disappointed to see that the show won’t return for a 2nd season. I binge-watched this show in 2 evenings. I found it accidentally when I surfed into it, and wanted to watch it from beginning to end. I thought that the characterizations were great, the acting wonderful, and loved the quirkiness of the characters. There are shows that have remained on TV that are so inferior! My husband and I just found this show, stayed up all night binge-watching it, and are devastated there won’t be a second season. The show was so excellent, but it did NOT need all the sex. Maybe it would have made it if they left the porn out and just stood on the excellence of the writing, directing, and performances of so many exceptional actors!
just binged watched Gravity and loved it!!! too many unanswered questions, such a shame
I loved it.I became addicted to the point it was hard to take a break. Sorry to see it end, but by the tenth season, I also became bored of the caracters.they became too predictable…But 10 great episodes!!! NOt all series are meant to go on forever..You had a great run…Feel good about that I do………..
I just binge-watched this show in one day… they gave up too soon. This was an incredibly quirky, unique show. I’m so disappointed it’s over 🙁

I watched the season in one day – today. Loved the characters and the writing. Still shaking my head that it didn’t get the ratings to continue. Would love to know what happened next…

I loved it! Just watched the whole season on HBO Nordic and thought it was great! Intelligent and funny.
