canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Hell on Wheels: Season Five Ratings

Published: July 26, 2016

Hell on Wheels TV show on AMC: ratings (canceled)The ratings for Hell on Wheels have dropped lower and lower so AMC decided to end the series with season five. Will the fifth season’s ratings be the show’s best numbers yet or, will they drop lower. Will the execs regret not cancelling the show instead of giving it a final season? Stay tuned.

A gritty period drama that takes place in the 1860s, Hell on Wheels revolves around the institutionalized greed and corruption behind the building of America’s Transcontinental Railroad as loyalties are abandoned and the race between the Central Pacific and Union Pacific lines intensifies. The cast includes Anson Mount, Colm Meaney, Christopher Heyerdahl, Robin McLeavy, Jennifer Ferrin, Phil Burke, Tim Guinee, Dohn Norwood, Reg Rogers, Byron Mann, A. Zhou, Tzi Ma, and MacKenzie Porter.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

For comparision: The fourth season of Hell on Wheels averaged a 0.37 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.09 million viewers.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS

I feel AMC dropped the ball by having HOW on Saturday. AMC has produced great shows and HOW is one of them. AMC should have done a better job promoting, offer merchandise and aired it on Sunday nights. HOW offered great writing and acting. By far my favorite show now.

He’ll on Wheels is my favorite TV series of all times. I k my had Netflix and started the first season there. I then started watching the shoes on TV. I’m sick about the show leaving. Its the only regular TV series I watch.
Sad in GA to lose my wheels!

We love Hell on Wheels, too. But the story the other day was a bit confusing… where are all the people that used to be on the show? And who the heck are these new people? I felt like I’d missed an entire season. But that won’t keep us from watching, and hoping for another season.

Hell on Wheels is one of the best shows on AMC right now I have been waiting for it to return. Great writing, acting, background scenery, etc. Anson Mount is an awesome actor and deserves an Emmy! Ratings re fickle and unreliable. Trust the feeback better. This show DESERVES another 5 seasons at least!!!!!!

Love the story, but it is July. Who watches TV in July?? Bon fires, pontoon boat rides and beer. Plenty of time for TV in January.

This show is the best…. why you make us wait so long to see it. No wonder the ratings are low you don’t want us to see it anymore. We watched it twice Saturday night.
Please don’t cancel it

This is the best show on television. Why would they cancel it? It shows wealth, determination, history, how the Pioneers lived and how the railroad was built. They don’t teach that in school. It’s riveting every week. AMC is making a mistake by cancelling this series. Anson Mount should have got an award for his acting

I love Hell on Wheels. I think it has at least one more season after Season 5 and I would definitely watch.

I think the AMC problem was marketing it to the wrong age group and its time slot.
