As we suspected a few weeks back, CW has cancelled the steamy drama Hidden Palms after a short season of eight episodes. The series finale is set to air this Wednesday (July 4th) at 8pm but will the mystery of poor Eddie’s murder be solved? Will viewers be left hanging?
From the mind of Kevin Williamson, who also created Dawson’s Creek, this drama centered a group of teens and a mystery in idyllic Palm Springs, CA. Fewer than 1.9 million watched the debut and viewership fell even lower as the weeks went on.
Williamson was well aware that the series might not catch on and wrote the season accordingly. The killer will indeed be revealed in the final episode but, as is the case with most ongoing dramas, not all will be resolved. Williamson said, “We definitely answer a lot of questions, primarily the big one: what really happened to Eddie. We resolve who killed Eddie, but it opens a can of worms, it’s a double whammy”
What would have happened if Hidden Palms had been renewed? Williamson says that the next thirteen episodes had already been written and the series future was mapped out beyond that. He muses, “You have sort of the broad-stroke version [of the series]. I can see where it would be in four years and I could see how it would start next season in high school. The first eight episodes represent the summer. Now we would get into the beginning of the school year and introduce a lot more characters and move forward.”
Will we ever learn what the future would have held for Johnny, Greta, Nikki, Liza and the rest? Unless the prolific Williamson wants to share his plans, it looks pretty doubtful. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open so stay tuned! 
I have been patiently waited for the new eposide, So today to my dismay I found out that it was cancelled. It was a great show and I wish that it be continued

i wish Hidden Palms wasnt canceled b/c that was the best show on tv that ive watched since the OC was cancelled i wish it could have continued but i guess ill just have to deal with it.
i am so upset that the show is being canceled. I truly did like watching it. I’m tired of people dissing it with all there sarcasm of how bad they think it is. It had more of a story line than that stupid O.C which went down hill in it’s second season, but some how managed to stay around for four. Give hidden palms a chance. Plus i really love seeing Cliff he makes the show worth while.
I am so mad that Hidden Palms was cancelled it is such a good show. I watched it every week and i like cried when i found out it was cancelled. i really thingg that it should be given another chancee and definatly advertise better. i think this showw would totally be lovedd by people just like the o.c and one tree hill wass if it is given another chance. This is why I hate starting to watch new shows. You get all involved in them and they get cancelled. I am 33 yrs old and enjoyed this show. I was so upset when OC got cancelled. This show was like the OC and I enjoyed watching it. Networks need to give these new shows a chance. They decide to quickly to cancel shows. I love this show I cant believe its ended. 2 reasons are to blame, 1 its summer and nobody wants to be inside the house watching tv (it should have been saved for the fall), and 2 poor advertising. I seriously doubt that anyone even knew about it. I am obsessed with this show. It should seriously be given another chance.
iI think it’s stupid that they cancelled the show so soon. I mean maybe the ratings werent great, but it had just started.. it was only on for like a month. This show was by far one of the best shows. I haven’t been really into a show since The O.C. and when i saw previews for this show i got really excited. And even more so that it was a mystery is what got me hooked. You still have a chance to bring this show back, especially with that cliff-hanger at the end of the “series” finale. PLEASE BRING HIDDEN PALMS BACK!

Hidden Palms is an excellent show, from the plot to the casting it was a success. However the show lacked advertising I never saw a single preview for the show. If networks do not pick up the next season of hidden palms which looks like that may be the case, I think the next 13 episodes should be turned into a book or a movie. A movie could keep the cast, but making a movie takes money, so a book would be more simple
All i got to say is this was one of the best shows i have even started to watch..From the very first episode i was hooked and it really sucks that it was cancelled the CW sucks and before you know it OTH will be gone maybe if they did more advertising for Hidden Palms people would have known something about because i just came across it one day before watching OTH other than that i never heard of it
