The CW has decided to finish the low-rated drama Hidden Palms two weeks earlier than planned. Fortunately for fans, they’ll still get to see all of the filmed episodes — at least that’s the plan right now.
Often compared to The O.C., the drama was conceived by Dawson’s Creek creator Kevin Williamson. Palms was originally scheduled to begin airing in early March but was replaced by Pussycat Dolls Present and postponed until May 30th. The drama debuted to disappointing ratings — fewer than 1.9 million watched. The second episode’s viewership dropped to just over 1.5 million.
For now, the CW still plans to air all eight episodes but, the network will burn them off as quickly as possible. Double episodes will air on both June 20th and 27th and the season finale will air on July 4th, a typically little-watched night of television. (Coincidentally, FOX is airing the final two episodes of their cancelled drama Drive on the same night.)
The network has also decided to drop the drama’s Sunday night encores effective immediately. Reruns of 7th Heaven will move to take Palms’ place at 8pm and double episodes of Reba reruns will fill in at 7pm on Sundays.
Though Hidden Palms has not been cancelled, it’s highly unlikely that the series will return for a second season. Will storylines be left unresolved by the end of the eighth episode? If the ratings fall any further, will the CW finish airing this season? Stay tuned! 
I LOVED this show .. it has two of the same actors from the OC .. but was much better ..cancelling it was idiotic. I also missed the season finale, the least they can do it make it available somewhere ..
yeahh so basically, i was hella pissed when I found out hidden palms was being canceled. it became one of my favorite shows ever and it was so easy to fall in love with the characters. i watched it over the summer with my sisters and best friend while i visited. we would seriously drop everything and anything we were doing to watch it, every day until the season finale. it was 10x better than all the other bullsh*t on television. and i agree, really the only good show left on the cw is supernatural(: its my all time favorite.… Read more »

i really liked this show! i hope they consider to keep it on! i just found this all out earlier today! i thougth they were just waiting til fall but they never showed any previews for it!!!! but its *NOTHIG* like OC!!! i t think that “Hidden Palms” is off tha chain and they need to put tha show back on…!!!
ok so for anyone who says this show is horrible…shut up. this show was amazing. besides supernatural, hidden palms was the only other show i watched. the CW doesnt give shows a good enough chance. the WB did a way better job. they would have at least given it a full season before cancelling it. i havent even seen the shows that are coming on this fall but i hate them already. and chances are that because they seem bad they are gonna last longer than any good show.
This show was really great. I hated the O.C. and only watched a few episodes, so for those who keep on saying that HP is a copy of that show, let me tell you that you couldn’t be more wrong. I travelled for a month and didn’t get to watch the rest of the serie and I was eager to come back, watche what a missed and buy the DVD as soon as it would come back. Wow! I loved this show and was anxious to see what would happen in the next season, who really killed Eddie, and other stuff. WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE CANCELLED?!?!?!

i really love this show… it needs to continue… every wensday i would watch it and i would always wanted to know what would happen next week! they cant just finish it like that!!! please do a second season its amazing!! come on give it a other chance
i personally really liked the show and was so disappointed to hear that it was canceled…i mean come on they showed what 3, 4 weeks of the show! come on u have to give it more time it was such a good show!
I love Hidden Palms. This is such an amazing show. I know that I have seen every espoid aired, and I have gotton my friends addicted. I just think that this show needed more advertising to attract more people. Please don’t end it, you never know what could happen. Give it a chance…
This is the first show I have EVER gotten into and actually made time to watch! Don’t cancel it!!!
I love this show. It does remind me of The OC and 90210. We need more dramas on all there seems to be is reality tv.
there’s nooo way they can cancel this show right now. it’s one of the best dramas i’ve watched in i don’t know how long. i have to know what happens now that johnny know the truth! the cw doesn’t have my respect unless they bring back hidden palms!!
dude this is 1 show i actually got into. it is actually a pretty good show when u watch it. ill be pist it teher isnt a second season. screw critics, what do they know. this shows awesomee
To start a new show during the summer is dumb anyway.
