Word is circulating today that Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled after two seasons. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet but it doesn’t look like there will be a third season.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
Things haven’t been looking so good for the syndicated series for awhile. The ratings had dropped and, last month, the Tribune company (which owns a lot of local stations that air LOS) decided not to pick it up for a third year.
ABC Studios and show producers said that the show had not being cancelled yet and that the studio was searching for other local stations to fill in for the Tribune stations.
There had been unofficial word that that process was going well. However, now it seems that ABC couldn’t find enough takers for LOS.
Sad as this news might be, it doesn’t come as a big surprise. The season’s viewership started at about 2.5 million in November and the April 10th episode barely brought in two million. That’s not an attractive trend for a new buyers.
Hopefully, the producers will be able to include some degree of closure to the final episode.

I can’t believe it will not have a third season!!! This is one of the best shows in years. My wife and family look forward to it each week when it pops up on netflix. Fir us it started out slow the first season, but we stuck with it and then around episode 6-7 of the first season each episode gets better. Originally we started watching it the same day after we watched the last season one episode of Spartacus which is another great show so that is why it probably seemed slow. My husband and I watch this series on Netflix…we used to watch it on Hulu. Does the viewing numbers also take those into account? When my hubby told me that there wasn’t a 3rd season I was very sad! I wish there was a way to keep it on the air…or at least on the internet. 🙁

this is bullcrap, no offense intended. LEGEND OF THE SEEKER IS NOT GETTING CANCELLED. these same rumors circled last season and look, our Seeker survived. not to mention the season finale is next saturday; notice they said SEASON finale and not SERIES finale. that makes all the difference. so cheer up guys. it’s all good 😉
there really r many who love the show i am one of them who was recently interduced to the show and i have been hooked ever since please dont cancel the show! we r worried fans,everyone who watches this will agree!
I was devastated when i first heard rumours of Legend Of The Seeker being cancelled. The news was also very shocking. How could a show this good be getting cancelled?!

It brakes my heart! It is the one show I look forward to every week. I hate all the violence shows they have on now, but go figure they take off a show that is not a cop series. I hope LOS gets picked up by another station. Let the IMAGATION live and the QUEST SURVIVE!!!!
i am very disappointed to hear there will not be a 3rd season. Just like the books I could not wait until the next episode came on tv. But that is just the way television is. They will keep boring and just plain down out bad shows like The Office on TV.But the great shows like legend of the seeker they will cancel. It is bad commentary on Television Execs. If there is any way I can be let known how to save the show please let me know.
i really love watching Legend of the Seeker. There isn’t much good on during the weekend and i think this show is the best. i can barely wait until the next episode. I think this show would be a disappointment to loose.
I eagerly look forward to watching Seeker every week. Do the dwindling viewing numbers also take into account those of us who tape the show, or only those watching Real Time? Save our Seeker!
Not at all–the show got very bad after the first season–it just stopped being good–so no I’m not the least bit sorry to see it goooooooooooooooo!
I love the Show so much! you should see how many people watch it on youtube!!! Most people do because they don’t have the channel or there in a different country, I think one episode got over 20,00 viewers! ABC should ask veiwers what they want, The books were great and i was so happy to see it come in to a show !!! i bet a lot of other people were to! now my happyness and others too is now crushed! ABC LOOK AT YOUTUBE!!!!!!!
