What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Pure Genius is a high-tech medical drama. At Bunker Hill Hospital, Silicon Valley tech titan, James Bell (Augustus Prew), pairs brilliant medical minds with technology gurus and sidesteps bureaucracy in the interest of saving lives — including his own. Bell enlists an exceptional, yet controversial veteran surgeon, Dr. Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) to help him revolutionize health care. As Chief of Staff, Dr. Wallace oversees a trail-blazing team including the candid Dr. Zoe Brockett (Odette Annable); the idealistic and overly literal neurosurgeon, Dr. Talaikha Channarayapatra (Reshma Shetty); former gangbanger Dr. Malik Verlaine (Aaron Jennings); intense neurologist Dr. Scott Strauss (Ward Horton); and tech genius Angie Cheng (Brenda Song).

On May 15, 2017, it was revealed that Pure Genius has been cancelled so there won’t be a second season. Could it be revived someday? Stay tuned for updates.
Telly’s Take
While CBS has not officially cancelled Pure Genius, this medical drama’s prognosis is grim. In November of 2016, after just four installments had aired, the network passed on ordering the back nine episodes of Pure Genius, season one. The only CBS TV show it outperforms in the demo is Elementary. Right now, it looks like the Pure Genius (likely series) finale will air on January 26th. Barring a miracle, CBS will cancel Pure Genius. I have started circling this one and am all but certain there will be no season two.

Pure genius is a new kind of drama that gives hope that there could be cure for those who are ill and the star Doctor is a new kind of sweet hero
I love this show I really hope it comes back and I wish we could see all the reruns of first season
Renewed Season 2 Pure Genius
Please do not cancel this show. It is one of those shows that makes you believe that miracles do happen. I love it!!!
I love this show!! Please don’t cancel it. It’s the kind of show that gives you hope for the future of medicine. I love the characters, their flaws, their idiosyncrasies. It’s great! I looked forward to it every week. I think it’s also a show that could inspire kids to study medicine or technology in the way CSI inspired kids to study forensics. Let’s give them something worth watching instead of stupid shows like survivor, housewives of ??, Chrisley knows best and anything Kardashian!!
Pure Genius
This is, without a doubt, the best show ever! I’ve always loved show’s about intelligent minds, and although one may think it’s far fetch, with geniuses and science, the possibilities are actually there. I love June’s comment that this show has imagination that is not so far off. I work nights, but always taped the show. I couldn’t wait to watch it every week. I’ve told family and friends about it and they had started to watch it, then someone told me it was being canceled. I was so upset & thought I hope another Network takes it up if… Read more »
Pure Genius is a wonderful portrayal of medical science of the future. The cast and stories are very interesting and I always look forward to the next episode. PLEASE KEEP this show on the air! There are so few that have substance like this.
I work at a hospital and I can tell you that the subject matter is very real and inevitable. It is a pleasure to watch something on TV that has imagination that is not so far off. It is hard to watch shows these days as most are an insult to our intelligence. Pure Genius is not one of those shows and hopefully, CBS will listen to its viewers! KEEP IT!!
Every GOOD show CBS has put out in recent years has been cancelled after the first season. (A Gifted Man, Intelligence, Defying Gravity, Vegas, Battle Creek) Instead, they fill up the time slots with more worthless, filthy garbage, like Survivor. I think Pure Genius is a great show, and should be continued.
Please don’t cancel this show. I loved it. I am a nurse and loved most of the outcomes. It is a feel good show.
CBS, Please don’t cancel this amazing series, I definitely enjoyed the first 13 episodes and would like to see how the story unfolds for Dr.Wallace and James Bell.
Longing for season 2,
Darien Foo
I enjoyed this show very much.tired of watching all the Asian/Muslim. Afghanistan and Iraq war stories. It was very educational and put hope into new medical procedures.
I hope this show is not cancelled! I love this show!
Please do not cancel this serie, it already had a great potential to transform in a new big medical serie like House or Gray’s Anatomy.
You just need to review the hour and the way/goals of some characters, but again do not cancel this serie because it was only the first session.
Note. In Brazil if a can’t watch in the same day I certainly will watch by streaming disponible by my cable TV operator.
I love Pure Genius my favorite show ever! Please don’t cancel the show. The actors are all great and work so well together. Give it more time on air.
