A couple weeks ago, FOX shifted their low-rated Rake series to Friday nights. Now, the show is on the move again.
Rake follows a lawyer (Greg Kinnear) who tries to do good but just can’t seem to get beyond his numerous addictions that cause him so much trouble. The cast also includes John Ortiz, Necar Zadegan, Bojana Novakovic, David Harbour, Tara Summers, Miranda Otto, and Ian Colletti.
The series is being replaced by Kitchen Nightmares as of this Friday night. A rerun of the Gordon Ramsay series will lead into the one-hour series finale of Raising Hope at 9pm. Season six of Nightmares kicks off on April 11th.
Back-to-back episodes of Rake will air on Saturday, April 5th, starting at 8pm. That will leave one episode unaired — the sixth installment produced, titled “Mammophile.” No word on when or if that will see the light of day.
One thing is clear however. Despite the fact that FOX hasn’t cancelled it yet, there’s no way that Rake will be returning for a second season.
What do you think? Have you been watching the Rake TV series? Why do you think it hasn’t caught on?
I LOVE this show. I think the writing is great and the acting is superb for a first year series. PLEASE keep this show on. I can’t believe people don’t like it!
Great show!!! Keep it on!!!
Needs better marketing to improve watchers numbers
This is my favorite show. I love that character who always gets out of trouble only to find himself in more. Great show.
I really enjoyed Rake. I’m a fan of Greg Kinnear. I can’t understand why the ratings were low. My mother and I looked forward to it every week. If Rake comes out in dvd, I’ll buy all the episodes. That’s how much I liked Rake!
Rake is well written, well acted, and always interesting. Greg Kinnear is a gem and Fox needs to step up and give this show a continued chance! Stop messing around with it. . . find a good timeslot for it. . . lock it in and leave it alone!!! Even people who enjoy a show will get tired of trying to relocate it when the schedule is tampered . . .p.s. and we know that weekends (a time when most people are not home in the evening) is where networks send fledgling/struggling shows to die. There are so many other… Read more »

A real shame if this is not saved!!
Love the show!
love it, leave it on.
Rake is both addictive and repulsive. I can’t stop watching even though I’m disgusted at the moral values depicted. Please, please don’t cancel this hilarious show!
I love this show, DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!! It is so funny and smart at the same time. I love Greg Kinnear he is perfect for the part. The whole cast is so good. Come on guys listed to your viewers for a change .
Hey, no one knew when it was on. It got very little press that I saw in Denver, Co. . I just happened on it and as it turned out, It is the best show I’ve been watching. It shows that the world isn’t all vanilla ice cream , love and flower farts. Hell yeah it’s seedy. Hell yeah seedy exists and it can be funny. I know it is a “Bottom line” issue. I’m glad Fox programming takes these chances. Give it another season in a dead spot that will give it some exposure. “The Good Wife” has nothing… Read more »
