The show about people returning from the dead — is now dead itself. ABC has cancelled their Resurrection TV series after two seasons on the air.
On Resurrection, a small town in Missouri is turned upside down when long-dead loved ones return after 30 years. The cast includes Omar Epps, Frances Fisher, Matt Craven, Devin Kelley, Mark Hildreth, Samaire Armstrong, Sam Hazeldine, Landon Gimenez, and Kurtwood Smith.
The series debuted well but the ratings declined over the course of its first season — averaging a 2.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.32 million viewers. The network brought it back anyway and the second season debut was down by more than 40% when compared to the series debut.
By the end of the second season, Resurrection’s second year ratings average was at a 1.26 rating in the demo with 4.67 million — a season-to-season decline of 50%.
The last episode aired on January 25th and sadly didn’t offer viewers a resolution to the story.

I’m very sad and upset about the show being canceled. I do not watch a lot of TV but this show caught my interest. It was a good show and I enjoyed watching it. Now I will never know what transpired all of this. Thanks ABC 🙁

Very sad about this decision. It’s almost like ABC set this show up for failure from day one. Scheduling it against The Walking Dead and Sunday night football, over the holiday season so there were long gaps between episodes and barely promoting it. Secrets and Lies was heavily promoted. I got angry every time I saw one because they never did that for Resurrection. I purposely didn’t watch S&L because of it. I’m done with it, as well. Another show that wasn’t given a chance. They didn’t even bother to give it full seasons. Maybe it’s time for another station to pick up Resurrection and Forever and put them on different nights/times. That has worked for other shows in the past. ABC has lost their mind! After all, Jericho was extended due to a letter-writing campaign. WE WANT ANSWERS!

I think we should all stop watching any of the ABC, CBS, and NBC shows altogether. They in unison have cancelled a total of 20 shows like these leaving its viewers hanging with no finales and its apparent that no matter how much we enjoy these shows they will continue to do the same with any and all new shows they may air. Why bother watching them at all if they will be canceling them anyways? We all get hooked on them and then they pull them with no consideration for the viewers they do have. I totally agree !!! I’m so tired of the networks getting us hooked on them with a cliffhanger only to cancel the story. Hey CBS, ABC, & NBC. You won’t catch me watch any more of your shows. It be one thing if you came back the next season with a two hour ending but no you don’t care about all those who were following. NO MORE FOR ME.

Networks don’t get it sometimes. People get involved in the shows. The networks know when they are going to dump a show. Have the decency to film a final episode and give the answers. Have some closure. Sleepy hollow was a hit last year but film only a handful of episodes and was off the air quickly, but was renewed because of good ratings. This is why I’m done with new shows…I will wait until a show has been on for several seasons and then start watching it on hulu or netflix…Network TV is doing this to themselves. I’m so tired of getting involved and wasting my time when shows get canceled…ABC is known for this….so Im not watching anymore new shows….There is plenty of TV series on Netflix and Hulu I have not seen and can watch entire seasons start to finish……
I agree with you. ABC — not for me. They are notorious for this. And target viewers as young adults, really. What about the rest of us? Retired or stay-at-home people watch more tv than young adults, and yes, we pay to view tv just like young adults. I’m seriously considering blocking this channel from my tv.
