TNT recently premiered a new police drama, Rizolli & Isles, starring Angie Harmon. Will the TV show be a big success or be cancelled like her last detective series, Women’s Murder Club?
In Rizzoli & Isles, tough detective Jane Rizzoli (Harmon) teams up with serious forensic pathologist Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander). The rest of the cast includes Bruce McGill, Lee Thompson Young, Lorraine Bracco, and Jordan Bridges.
The show debuted on July 12th, with a lead-in from The Closer. The series premiere attracted a 1.5 in the demo and 7.55 million viewers. Not only is that an excellent sampling but it nearly tied its established lead-in and came in third place among all of the week’s cable shows. It set a record as the highest-rated debut for a commercial-supported cable series.

In week two, Rizzoli & Isles actually beat The Closer’s demo numbers. The episode again drew a 1.5 rating in the demo but total viewers slid to 7.27 million. For week three, on Monday night, viewership dropped — to a 1.3 in the demo and 6.548 million viewers.
While the ratings are still very good for the cable series, this week’s ratings drop is not a good sign. Hopefully it’s not the start of a trend. You may recall that TNT’s Raising the Bar also set ratings records when it debuted. After just two seasons, it was cancelled. It remains to be seen if Rizolli & Isles will follow in its footsteps.

Ive been binge watching episodes, and ive had to slow down to an episode a day… I’m already on season 5 :'( If they end R & I can they at least bring back Women’s murder club from 2007?
THIS IS A GREAT SHOW. I LOVE WATCHING IT. IT IS NICE TO HAVE WOMEN BE THE MAIN CHARACTERS OF A SHOW. I HAVE NOT MISSED ONE EPISODE SINCE IT STARTED. I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO IT COMING BACK EACH SEASON
What a great show!!! I love the entire cast! So sad if they really go. But if they decide to May I suggest some made for TV movies.??
I enjoy smiling after Maura has just said something strange and makes sense to her and Jane looks at Lee thompson young and they have that eye contact thing going…smile at what Maura says. I love watching the ladies interact and mama Rizzoli and her brothers. Will the father of both ladies be back soon?
I love this show and has watch since 2012, now has caught up on the beginning shows to current. Waiting for 2014 season to begin. I like all the cast members and yes, this is a great show and great family of Rizzoli’s and friends. I enjoy watching more than once.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW. Please keep it. A&E already broke my heart by taking off CSI Miami. I couldn’t take another blow like that. Canceling Rizzoli and Isles would definitely be a mistake. PLEASE, we’re begging you don’t cancel this show. Rozzoli and Maura are the best of the best. Listen to your viewers. Thank you for listening.
