FOX introduced a few new law enforcement TV shows, in the 2016-17 television season. While Lethal Weapon has already been renewed for a second season, APB is struggling in the TV ratings and could be cancelled. Which path will the new Shots Fired TV show follow? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Airing on the FOX television network, Shots Fired stars Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Stephen Moyer, Will Patton, Mack Wilds, Aisha Hinds, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Conor Leslie, DeWanda Wise, and Richard Dreyfuss. Helen Hunt, Jill Hennessy, and Dennis Haysbert guest star.
A timely mystery drama thriller, Shots Fired is a 10-hour limited series which explores the tense aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. When African-American Deputy Joshua Beck (Wilds) shoots and kills an unarmed white college student, it unsettles his small burg. As word spreads about the overlooked murder of an African-American teenager, tensions flare. Launching an investigation, the Department of Justice dispatches experienced investigator Ashe Akino (Lathan) and young Special Prosecutor Preston Terry (James) to investigate.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. I really love this show and hope it will not be cancelled. There’s a lot going on in this show. It’s unpredictable and very interesting. Especially the Season Finale because it opened up another entirely different can of worms!!!

I’m so disappointed in the viewers and the FOX network for canceling one of the best shows in a very long time !!!! Shots fired is a great show, the problem is people don not want to see what’s really happening in the world. Way better than empire & scandal! S.F should be here to stay!
I agree. It is the exact same situation with American Crime. The ratings were low and I believe that it is because people are uninterested in these type of story lines. But American Crime and Shots Fired are both great television series.
Shots Fired is the realist political drama series I’ve ever seen. It sheds light on the reality of our justice system and the political world! I really hope this show returns for a second season.
This is a really great show I think it’s informative and real unlike these other shows and the actors are really amazing. Please pick up the show.
Please do not cancel this show. If its cancelled it’s only because the show is revealing the truth, nothing to do with ratings. I’m completely on edge waiting for the 2nd season. It’ a great show and should not be cancelled.

What was the boycott for, you just had to turn the channel. Are you from the South or Midwest. Do you know what it feels like to be pulled over because of the color of your skin, have lights flashed in the back seat of your car on your children and scare them. I make more money then the Police officer that pulled me over and probably more than 60% of the officers in that town . I love this show as well. The topic was outstanding. This was a thrilling and engaging series. This show generates thought and conversation. This is the reality TV people really need. I would love to see a second season.
Shots fired is a great series. If it’s cancelled it’s because Americans are scared of the truth. This is what goes on right here in the land of the “free”. They run season after season of Empire which I think sucks now. I was hooked the 1st season but Empire is how most people thinks blacks conduct themselves. Too much BS to cancel shots fired after 1 season and Rosewood after 2 seasons which was also a good series. I say fox network is to blame.
Please let there be a second season of shots fired I am so tired of all good shows being cancelled. PLEASE RENEW

I am highly disappointed that you are cancelling this show. It was great, very realistic story line. Loved the storyline. I taped other shows in order to watch it. I hope you reconsider and renew it for season 2. NeNwb
