Sleepy Hollow will return to the small screen tonight with its fourth season, and the series faced some challenges due to the events of the season three finale.
The FOX series saw the death of Abbie and a move to a new city for season four. According to Yahoo!, Clifton Campbell spoke about the series and its main theme, and Ichabod is facing some big challenges. He said the following:
“Now that Abbie Mills is gone, Ichabod’s dramatic and thematic journey involves finding a new family. He’s torn between his role as warrior, hero and leader, and doesn’t feel at all at home.”
Even with the challenges, Campbell told TV Line that “the tone, the characters, the fun is fully intact, and we’re finding that a new environment is a really exciting way to challenge the show.”
Janina Gavankar’s character is a part of the new family Ichabod will create, but not everything will be perfect between the pair at the start.

Just cancel it…you RUINED IT! I thought I couldn’t loath another writer more than J. Plec….the person behind this just pasted her or tied. I can’t decide. I mostly hate tv/movies these days… hardly anyone or anything I want to see on it is anyway and when it is it turns to crap.
The show will no longer take place in Sleepy Hollow, yet it is still titled “Sleepy Hollow.” That makes sense. The new cast members are a blur of familiarity. And Robbie Kay playing a teen hearthrob is a stretch. The kid is ugly.
