canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

The Assets: ABC Pulls Mini-Series After Two Episodes

by Trevor Kimball, January 10, 2014

The Assets canceledTo no surprise, ABC has pulled its very low-rated mini-series The Assets from the Thursday lineup.

For the next three weeks, the 10pm timeslot will be filled by Shark Tank reruns. It’s unclear what will fill the timeslot after that. Scandal is expected to return on February 27th.

It’s unclear what will become of the remaining six episodes of The Assets.

What do you think? Did you enjoy the series? Would you like to see the leftover episodes released online, on DVD as part of a full series set, or aired on Saturday nights?

Put the mini-series back on. Don’t leave everybody hanging on what promised to be a really good production.

I absolutely do want to see the rest of this series. As the saying goes, truth is stranger than fiction and more interesting, too. What a disappointment that they have chosen to show reruns of a stupid reality show in its place. I hope ABC comes to its senses and decides to show the rest of the series. If you won’t show it live, please give it to Netflix for streaming.

I was very interested in this series, as it is about real life, not made up drama, or “reality” TV that is just hokey.

I would very much like to see it at least finish it’s already produced episodes, if not follow up on both the results of the on going investigation, but the damage done by Aldrich Ames, and his treason.

Would like to see the remaining episodes of this series. This is a true story about an important event that everyone should be aware of. The so-called popular reality shows we are inundated with are the ones that should be booted off the air. Not all of your viewers in interested in innocuous fluff. That being said, ABC is still one of my favorite networks.

Well this sucks! ABC sucks! I really got into this mini series and they cancel it after just two episodes!!! I can’t believe it!! I think they should bring the remaining shows back or put them on DVD.

Let me know when and where it is on, and I’ll watch it. What a disappointment to get hooked and then not be able to finish it! All they need to do is let us finish watching it on ABC.com. But somehow they must tell me that it is going to be available. Maybe they could sell it to PBS, and we could watch it there. Joe Foley mentioned above that “The Dome” won’t be back. I didn’t know that. I know some people stopped watching it because they were prevented by the network during that feud with Time Warner… Read more »

ABC sucks. It’s a teaser not to show such a good show. Why would ABC do such a thing?

This was the first series that I started to watch on ABC in some time. When cancelled, I was disappointed as I wanted to see the story, but I could tell that the series was not up to par for prime time. But it was better than anything the networks have been running for the past month. They should have left it on for January and February. Thank God that the cable networks have now started their shows and I do not have to watch reruns on the networks.

I agree. TV prime time has been horrible. So why did they have to cancel a good show because some stupid executive didn’t like it?

The series failed because there were no gunfights, massive explosions or martial arts in the opening episode, unlike most Hollywood spy movies.

When ABC says Mini series, they mean mini. Just a reminder to myself not to watch another mini on this network.

I would just like to know the idiots that are running the networks these days. Who ever they are, they have got to be the biggest morons anywhere. I’ve have them all on the bread lines and looking for a job. If they were running things before we wouldn’t have seen such great mini series such as Roots, Centennial, The Winds of War, Lonesome Dove and a number of other great mini series. Just what is wrong with these guys? They want every batter that gets up to plate to hit a home run every time. The networks just don’t… Read more »

I agree If ABC starts a series finish it. It sucks when a good series just gets started and is dropped. How does the network know nobody’s watching it? It’s a shame such a terrible replacement of reruns is taking its place.

I thought this was a mini-series. I think ABC needs to air the remaining 6 shows.

Like many of my friends, I hate it when a a channel decides to ditch a show purely on poor ratings. This show had me captivated. Really sad it’s been pulled. There’s a lot of this going on. I think all these channels are looking for the Breaking Bad or the House of Cards. Give it time, let it build it’s ratings. Put the show back on you fools.
