Lifetime has pulled the plug on The Client List. There won’t be a third season of the Jennifer Love Hewitt drama.
The Client List began as a Lifetime movie and then became a TV series. It follows a housewife and mom (Hewitt) who’s abandoned by her husband. To support her family, she starts working at a spa that turns out to offer more than just massages. Others in the cast include Loretta Devine, Colin Egglesfield, Rebecca Field, Naturi Naughton, Alicia Lagano, Kathleen York, Brian Hallisay, and Cybill Shepherd.
Season one averaged 2.51 million viewers and that led to a second season renewal. Those 15 episodes drew 2.05 million.
The third season renewal was supposedly being held up because Lifetime and the producers were trying to figure out how to handle Hewitt’s real-life pregnancy. Hewitt, who is also an executive producer, wanted the character played by her real-life fiancé Brian Hallisay to be the fictional baby’s dad as well.
This demand is at odds with the plans of Client List’s showrunner who wanted Colin Egglesfield’s character to be the dad.
According to Deadline, Lifetime and Sony TV became tired of the dispute and have now pulled the plug.
Since season two of Client List finished in June, Lifetime has found success with two new series — Devious Maids and Witches of East End — so they probably feel like they no longer need Client List.

Just finished season 2. So freaking bummed with the cliff hanger!!!
I agee……….my wife and I just finished binge watching both seasons on Netflix and now we find that there is no more…………c’mon get real that was a good story-line that just got dropped with Evan’s girlfriend watching him for IA with the police and the fire at The Rub and I could go on and on…………big and I mean BIG bummer!!!!!
I’m devastated! We just binge-watched the whole 2 seasons on Netflix and are left hanging at the end of Season 2 by a cliff-hanger!!
I am super bummed that there is no 3th Season! 100% Agree with all the others here! Someone needs to make this other Season ASAP please;)
I just got too see this show on Netflix and I believe that this show would be a hit it it was on a time frame where the main shows didn’t air at the same time I have watched this 2 x and I think that it was really good.
I’m upset there is no season 3, I just found this show on Netflix and was hooked immediately. As I researched the show to find more episodes, to my dismay I saw it wasn’t coming back. It has a great storyline & amazing actors. Would hope a new network or even Netflix would pick up for the loyal fans. Stranger things have happened. Here’s to hoping & we need closure for the characters to how season 2 ended.
I am totally disappointed that The Client List is not up for Season 3. I really really enjoyed the show and so disappointed when I reached the final episode of Season 2 to find out there was not going to be a season 3. Shame on you guys. Thanks
