While season two of The Client List didn’t perform as well as the first year, the ratings aren’t what could cause the Lifetime show to be cancelled.
Featuring the talents of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Colin Egglesfield, Loretta Devine and Cybill Shepherd, the second season of The Client List averaged 2.06 million viewers with a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That’s down from year one’s 2.51 million and 0.9 demo rating.
According to Deadline, the third season renewal is being held up because Lifetime and the producers are trying to figure out how to handle Hewitt’s real-life pregnancy. The actress is more than three months along.
Hewitt, who is also an executive producer on The Client List, wants her real-life fiancé Brian Hallisay to be the fictional baby’s dad as well. Playing Kyle Parks, Hallisay started as a recurring performer but then became a series regular.
This demand is at odds with the plans of Client List’s showrunner who wants Colin Egglesfield’s character (Evan Parks) to be the dad. Lifetime hasn’t made a decision yet but reportedly doesn’t want Hallisay.
Supposedly both sides are willing to walk away over this disagreement but a representative for Hewitt said, “There are many story lines we are exploring… So any suggestion that we are not doing our best to develop a great season is simply not accurate.”

If i remember correctly this show is based on a true story… stick to that. but you need one more season to wrap up everything.

Who cares…this is really crazy to cancel a really successful show because of the “daddy” issue. It’s TV for real, just name a “DAD” and get on with the show!!!! Let her be pregnant and bring the show back on!!!
please do not cancel show this is my favorite show on lifetime. I think the character Evan should be the dad or Kyle Idk but don’t cancel it PLEASE!!!!
This a great show, please don’t cancel the show. Why not let one of the guy on the client list be the baby’s daddy. That should spice things up a little.
Evan cause Kyle is un stable & left her already with 2 kids. ( Please do not cancel this show w/Jennifer. Bad enough they canceled Ghost Whisperer. ( Debbie loved the show alot.)
I absolutely would love to see a season three of the Client List and I think that Kyle shouldn’t be the father of the baby.
This a great show with an exceptional story line. The cast is wonderful and very talented. I look forward to watching The Client List each week , so the producers of this show please work something out and bring the show back. Like the other comments SURPRISE the viewers, this is what make the show great.

Why is it that all the good shows get canceled despite what the viewers want and all the crappy shows get renewed? Please find a way to bring back The Client List at least for another season. As for who the father of Riley’s baby is, surprise us with a great storyline. That’s what good writers do and so far you haven’t let us viewers down. aw pleaseeee don’t cancel this show I love it, I think Kyle should be the babys daddy bring him back hes trying to get her back and if it was with the one night stand how does she explain that to her kids don’t spice it up that much keep Kyle. but spice it up with him !!!!!
i think kyle should be the dad considering on last season 2 they were trying to get back together but not evan i never really liked them together or they could go with the client she slept with for the 50,000 dollars but please dont cancel this show
