The Fall will not see a fourth season on BBC Two, but one of the stars of the series was ready and wanted one to happen. Gillian Anderson spoke about her UK series in an interview with The Guardian, and she expressed her feelings about the series.
She said:
“It’s my favorite. It has just been so huge for me. I find it so compelling and mysterious.”
In fact, she opted to wear a red wig for filming of The X-Files because she needed to return for filming of season three of The Fall. She was told her hair would fall out if she went from blonde to red to blonde again for filming.
However, the actress will not have to worry about that in the future. The Fall was cancelled by BBC Two. Fans will see Anderson back on FOX with the revival of The X-Files later this month. The third season of The Fall will land on Netflix for U.S. audiences later this year.

The fall was my favorite show on TV! I’m super excited about season 3 coming up in the fall and was worried they weren’t doing it. Thank God they are!!!! Please do a 4th season because this is one of the best shows that ever came to TV. Gillian is ready for a 4th and Jamie Dornan just said he would do this role at the very end of his life because he loved it so much so lets go guys. Netflix needs to pick this up for season 4 since BBC2 is too stupid to.
Absolutely this is the best that this medium has to offer. It will be disappointment to see it end. There are some many story lines it could go off into. Thanks Bob Powers
That really burns me when an actress of Gillian’s talent is ready & willing give her time & energy to a quality show like The Fall only to have it pulled! What the hell’s wrong with the powers that be? Who are the powers that be that make these ignorant decisions? Love to chat with them!

Me too. I loved it. But the way Season 3 ended (I watched it on Netflix in USA) it is impossible.
