Get ready to say goodbye to Patrick Jane. The Mentailist is ending after seven seasons on CBS
Series co-star Tim Kang confirmed that the drama will be ending in a tweet that reads, “This is our 7th and final season. Looking at the scripts now, it’s so fun and such a great season!”
When the show was renewed for season seven, it was suspected that this would be the final year. The series has grown more expensive over the years and the ratings aren’t nearly as strong as they once were.
The Mentalist has been on the air since Fall 2008 and the seventh season is expected to begin airing sometime mid-season.

This was a very good show, such a shame that they couldn’t keep it alive. But as they say “ all good things must come to an end.

The ratings can’t all be 100% but I ink that any show that is deep and mental just doesn’t work for this new generation of “witch” jokes and mouthy kids NOT being funny.
I agree with all of the above comments. Mentalist and Elementary are two of the best shows out there. Hopefully at least Elementary will continue, but I do wish someone else would pick up Mentalist. Fabulous show.
I was very angry and sad to hear The Mentalist was being cancelled. There are not too many shows on tv today that I do like to watch. When one of my favorites get cancelled I get angry. It seems all they care about at the networks are ratings for the demo group 18-35 years old. My husband and I are in our 60’s. This was by far my favorite show and I am extremely upset that they cancelled this show. ..I wish we could start a petition to bring it back! ! Hopefully another station will get smart and start it..I sure hope so!
I agree with everyone who has written in. It is so upsetting as my husband and I both looked forward to this program and it could be watched by our whole family without wondering what chilren would think..
Was the best show on TV. I watched the ratings to see how popular it was every week. I was amazed at how well it did considering it was on after football Sunday nights. East coast viewers had to stay up late. I agree with Becky. CBS is heading down hill with no brakes.

What a shame that the network thought for us, once again, assuming that we didn’t think the writing was brilliant, or that we had waning interest! What a dreadful mistake. My wife and I were very upset to hear about the Mentalist leaving. We think that it is the best show on TV compared to the junk that CBS has now.

No they canceled it and I hate it. I LOVED THIS SHOW!!! I absolutely loved the ending though. It was good but I’m sad it ended
I stopped watching tv years ago when NBC was canceling great tv series a friend got me to watching the mentalist and now it back to net flix and the news, i have now delete cbs from my tv and nbc has been deleted for at least 15 years. I will never watch nbc or cbd EVER AGAIN and neither will my friends.
