canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

The Mentalist: Season Six Ratings

Published: May 19, 2014

The Mentalist TV show ratings: cancel or renew?Last season, despite a move to Sunday nights and a big drop in the ratings, CBS renewed The Mentalist for a sixth season. Will the ratings continue to fall? Will CBS bring the show back for a seventh year? Stay tuned!

On The Mentalist, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) continues to help the CBI solve cases while he seeks to bring his family’s killer to justice. Also starring in the show are Robin Tunney, Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti, Emily Swallow, and Rockmond Dunbar.

The higher a show’s ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS
TNT | TV Land | USA Network | WGN America

5/10 update: The Mentalist has been renewed for a seventh (and likely final) season on CBS.

5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context here.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

Last year comparison: The fifth season of The Mentalist averaged a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.5 million total viewers.

I think a love, comedy, drama starring Robin and Simon should be produced, much like the Meg Ryan movies: FRENCH KISS; WHEN HARRY MET SALLY; ADDICTED TO LOVE; YOU’VE GOT MAIL!

This is one the best TV shows that has ever been on. It is suspense show ever. It has a good sense of humor and not gruesome like Criminal Minds, which I can’t stand. If you leave it on Wed. night the ratings would be up!!!!

If you would leave “Red John” & anything similar off the series, you will have a GREAT SHOW.
“The Mentalist” himself has a wonderful way of solving crimes. IF you take him off, you will be making a TERRIBLE mistake!!
If you decide to keep the series going – DO NOT CHANGE THE ‘PLAYERS’.
You have a great show, just don’t run it in the ground like you did with the “Red John” series.

So many shows are being cancelled with out trying to tie up the plots we have invested time into. As an avid viewer of many series getting to wait all summer or thru all the different seasons of shows to see what happens next. You get invested and all the anticipation just to find out another cliff hanger will continue to hang in limbo or your imagination forever. Come on finish out the shows even if its in a 2 hour finale or 2 part but at least finish them.

Despite a move to Sunday night??? What planet are you from? If you want to kill a show
put it on Sunday night following Sunday Night Football and the every rinky dink award show. More often than not this show came on well after it’s time slot. Most people have to work on Monday. They can’t be waiting up all night long to watch a TV show. Please put this show on in a time slot that is dependable. There aren’t that many good shows on TV. This happens to be one of them.

The mentalists is the best show on TV. Simon and his co actors are all good actors and
the show itself is very pleasant and refreshing after all the killings, violence, and sexual
things happening on other shows. Before canceling they should try another night at 9:00
It was on Thursday nights. How did it rate then? Please find a way to keep this show on!!
