The Suite Life on Deck: Disney Announces Series Ending; No Season Four

by Trevor Kimball, April 26, 2011

Suite Life on DeckAll good things must come to an end and now, after two series, it’s time to say goodbye to Zack (Dylan Sprouse), Cody (Cole Sprouse), London (Brenda Song), and Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis). The Disney Channel has announced that The Suite Life on Deck will say goodbye on May 6th.

Here’s the official press release:

ZACK AND CODY GRADUATE FROM SEVEN SEAS HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MOMENTOUS SERIES FINALE OF “THE SUITE LIFE ON DECK,” PREMIERING FRIDAY, MAY 6 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

— Preview of New Comedy Series “A.N.T. Farm” to Follow —

All good voyages must come to an end, but for Seven Seas High School students Zack, Cody, London, Bailey and Woody, graduation comes sooner than they expect, and with a lot of baggage, in the momentous series finale of “The Suite Life on Deck,” premiering FRIDAY, MAY 6 (8:00-8:40 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Immediately following is a special preview of the new comedy series “A.N.T. Farm,” which revolves around Chyna Parks, an 11-year-old musical prodigy who attends high school as part of the prestigious A.N.T. (Advanced Natural Talents) program.

Fans are invited to visit www.DisneyChannel.com/SuiteLife and vote for their favorite episodes of “The Suite Life on Deck” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” The episodes with the most votes in categories including Most Athletic, Cutest Couple, Most Likely to Succeed and Class Clown will air during a week-long programming event beginning MONDAY, MAY 2. Fans can also submit their “graduation wish” shout-outs to the cast and select messages will ticker on-air during the programming event. As of last Friday, over 7.6 million votes had been received from fans regarding their favorite episodes.

With 162 half-hour episodes between “The Suite Life on Deck” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” the franchise holds the record for having the longest running continuous characters on air and the most episodes in Disney Channel history.

In “The Suite Life on Deck” episode “Graduation on Deck,” Cody and Bailey grapple with the crushing fact that one of them does not get accepted to Yale. Also, Mr. Moseby makes a life changing decision involving Ms. Tuttweiler.

Disney Channel’s newest comedy series, “A.N.T. Farm,” is set in San Francisco and revolves around Chyna Parks, an 11-year-old musical prodigy who attends a high school as part of the prestigious A.N.T. (Advanced Natural Talents) program. She, along with her fellow A.N.T.s, Olive and Fletcher, must find her place and make the most of her high school experience despite the decidedly lukewarm welcome from some high school students, including Chyna’s older brother, Cameron, who overcompensates to avoid his sister’s shadow, and overachieving Lexi Reed, who doesn’t appreciate the competition Chyna represents.

2011 to date, an episode of “The Suite Life” is the year’s No. 1 scripted TV telecast among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, and its Disney Channel Original Movie is the No. 2 TV movie of the year in the key demos. (Source: NTI, US ratings, Live + Same Day, 12/27/10-4/1911.)

“The Suite Life on Deck” stars Dylan Sprouse as Zack Martin, Cole Sprouse as Cody Martin, Brenda Song as London Tipton, Debby Ryan as Bailey Pickett and Phill Lewis as Mr. Moseby. Matthew Timmons has a recurring role as Woody and Erin Cardillo as Ms. Tuttweiler. The episode is executive-produced by Pamela Eells O’Connell (“Family Matters”) and Irene Dreayer (“Sister, Sister,” “Smart Guy”). “The Suite Life on Deck” is produced by It’s A Laugh Productions for Disney Channel.

Disney Channel is a 24-hour kid-driven, family inclusive television network that taps into the world of kids and families through original series and movies. Currently available on basic cable in over 99 million U.S. homes and to millions of other viewers on Disney Channels around the world, Disney Channel is part of the Disney/ABC Television Group.

What do you think? Are you a fan of this show? Are you sorry to hear there won’t be a fourth season?

They are the awesome! I am a mom and started watching the show with my son who is the same age. We watched every episode of the original series and when the spin off aired we did the same. It was great bonding time. It is great to watch them grow and change, but it also keeps viewers by growing and changing with the audience. I am sad to see the series end. Although they may be too old for disney channel. A series with them could air on a sister network: ABC or ABC Amily. That would be incredible.… Read more »

I was so disappointed that it ended mostly because of the way it ended. I don’t want to except that it has to end but they could at least make it happy. -.-

I am a 25 year old college graduate and I have loved these two guys since they were in big daddy. I have seen every episode of both series and I think it was the only show that could compare with boy meets world, I think a college series would be awesome! Maybe even try to bring back TGIF on abc.
