TV show description:
This crime thriller series is based on the feature film of the same name and picks up some 15 years later.
Detective Frank Rourke (Bill Paxon) is the maverick head of the Special Investigation Section (SIS) that hunts the city’s most dangerous criminals. He’s also one of the finest investigators the department has ever produced.
However, when the LAPD brass notices Rourke’s penchant for operating in a gray area to fight the war on crime, they assign Kyle Craig (Justin Cornwell), a heroic and untarnished cop, to pose as Frank’s trainee to spy on him and report on his off-book methods.
The members of Frank’s loyal team include Rebecca Lee (Katrina Law), a formidable officer with killer aim and a dark past, and Tommy Campbell (Drew Van Acker), a former pro surfer who follows Frank’s orders without hesitation.
The team’s cases find Frank and Kyle often crossing paths with Detective Valeria Chavez (Christina Vidal), one of the LAPD’s top investigators. Providing Frank with intel is his girlfriend, Holly Butler (Julie Benz) — a well-connected, unapologetic Hollywood madam.
While LAPD Deputy Chief Joy Lockhart (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) coolly puts Kyle in danger in her mission to take down Frank, Kyle’s schoolteacher wife, Alyse (Lex Scott Davis), worries her husband’s resolve to avenge the murder of his cop father may be his undoing.
As Frank starts teaching his principled trainee the way of the streets — where the ends often justify the means — they form an uneasy alliance that will change the course of both their lives irrevocably.
Episode #13 — Elegy, Part 2
Kyle, Tommy and Rebecca must rescue Frank when he goes on a rogue mission to Mexico to locate intel linked to the murder of Kyle’s father.
First aired: May 20, 2017.
What do you think? Do you like the Training Day TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Love the show do not want to see it cancelled
I love the show would hate to see it cancelled..
Please continue showing the remainder of this years training day shows. Would’nt miss this show. It is wonderful. We would also love the second season to be renewed with another actor filling the role. Although we miss Bill Paxton, we would love to see it renewed with another actor ( possibility a brother, as mentioned above), who is searching for Fred’s killer. Just crazy about this fantastic show.
PLEASE don’t cancel the show. I think the Bill Paxton character could be killed off and season 2 could be about searching for the killer and getting revenge on the idiot!
Please don’t cancel Training Day!!!! It is one of the very few shows that I really look forward to watching every week. I would love it even more if it were a 2 hour program. My husband and both enjoyed watching “Doubt” and then, CBS done the unthinkable and cancelled it after only 2 episodes!!
Even if some of these shows don’t get the highest number of ratings, please don’t think for a moment that they aren’t enjoyed by a lot of people.
If maybe looking for to whom Bill Paxton could possibly be replaced by, maybe Christian Slater.
Who would replace Bill Paxton in season 2? Dennis Quaid!!!!!!!!! Paxton’s brother from another city whose a cop too, here in L.A. to investigate his brothers (Paxton’s character) on screen murder. After solving the crime he decides to stay on with the rest of the cast for season 2.
I agree! Please keep this show any way you can. Mr. Bruchheimer has had so many great shows he can do it!!
Great choice, Dennis Quaid perfect.
I love training day please keep it
Saddened of course with the death of Bill Paxton! I liked Training Day and I think Bill’s portrayal of Frank Roake could never be recreated (convincingly) by another actor. I would like to see the show go forward, but as he was truly the central (key) figure, the writers will have to be creative geniuses! A new character, with the same shared past or history as Frank would have to be weaved into the cast. I do like the rest of the cast and look forward to seeing each ones character be developed.
please do not cancel training day it is a great show I will miss Bill Paxton please keep the show on
I love this show, if someone could be found to fill Bill Paxton shoe’s then I would love for this show to continue
Keep it. I know Bill Paxton died. I just loved him. Can’t they find some way to go on around him?
It’s great new show in 2017 like lethal weapon and rush hour because police shows are the best
And VIKINGS R ALSO THE BEST!! Keep up the GLORY!!
Without the main character the story is incomplete and always unexpected surprises
I’m curious. What’s going to happen to Training day now that Paxton, the lead actor, has died?
I think CBS made a very large mistake cancelling Pure Genius and putting on Training Day…No,thank you, sick of the violence, loved Pure Genius…
Big Big mistake
I’m not sure it’s cancelled, just ran it’s season.
I too love the show. Although most of the medicine seems far fetched for present time.
Love Training Day and all of its actors. Please find a way to work someone into the role of Frank’s character. It’s action packed and always keeps me watching to see the outcome . I usually go into demand during the week and watch again to catch anything I missed. Until last night’s episode, I was very suspicious of the lady that was the boss that hired Kyle to get dirt on Frank. After the shootout though, I was more convinced that she might not be bad. That’s what is so good about this show, is that you never know… Read more »
