Zero Hour: Cancellation Reactions from the Cast

by Trevor Kimball, March 3, 2013

zero hour canceled? As you may have already heard, Zero Hour has been cancelled by ABC after only three episodes. The news doesn’t come as a surprise as the debut represented ABC’s worst scripted premiere in the history of their regular seasons. The numbers for episodes two and three were even worse.

Still, there were at least five million or so people who made a point of watching Zero Hour each week. They’re understandably upset about the cancellation news — as are members of the cast.

Addison Timlin (Rachel): “The end of zerohour brings me great sadness, but every ending is a new beginning and that is always laced with hope. Thank you all, truly.” “What to the world was just 3 episodes was a whole year for us. Truly an honor to know, work with and love you, to everyone on the team. Xo”

Jacinda Barrett (Laila): agreed with Timlin’s second statement and added, “couldn’t have said it better. Xxxx”

Carmen Ejogo (Beck): “In a NY minute everything can change In a NY minute things can get a little strange” “#nomorezerohour I guess that means I can start watching American Idol again. #alwayslookonthebrightsideoflife” “I believe process is often more important than outcome. I had the BEST time making @ZeroHour_ABC with everyone all year, so #noregretsbaby”

Scott Michael Foster (Aaron): “I absolutely loved #ZeroHour and everyone who worked on it. Will miss filming one of the coolest and enjoyable shows I’ve been on.” “To all my wonderful twitter followers, you make the hard part of this job so much easier with your kind words and support. Thank you.”

What do you think? What was your reaction to Zero Hour being cancelled? What did you think of the work of the show’s cast and crew?

ABC Big Mistake

ABC Big Mistake

There are very few shows on television any more worth watching. Zero Hour needs to be picked up by another network!

ABC definitely made a HUGE MISTAKE! It’s unfortunate that this country is so dumbed down with the present crap on TV that the general public can no longer recognize, nor appreciate the art of a quality storyline, quality actors, and overall, a quality production; it’s as though it is done deliberately so that we are left with very little true authentic art. We have substituted this crap on TV and have redefined the art of a really good show. BRING ZERO HOUR BACK! This was a sleeper show that was just building momentum before ABC took it away. It was… Read more »

This was one of the most creative shows I have seen in a VERY long time. Shame it wasn’t marketed better and placed in a decent time slot from the get go or it would have quickly become a cult classic (much like Lost). The final episodes were amazing…made you question faith, creation, science and more. Would LOVE to see a second season with Hank and the reporters uncovering other mysteries.

This show had such POTENTIAL! Our society moves to fast for its own good. I hope one of the cable stations pick this up the future was so bright. ABC will never learn. They put a show on while every other series is ending and they expect what? You could’ve predicted this cancellation before the show even started. Has any show ever started late spring or early summer and done well? Why even waste the money to make it just put on the regular lousy programming and wait for September . This is the second great show cancelled this summer… Read more »

Again,ABC has cancelled one of their better shows in favor of what ?My family trusted them again,we invested our time into watching five of their new shows and needless to say they have cancelled all five.We give -you win! We have decided to wait until a show is on for a couple years and then watch them, if possible,if not who cares. We are adopting the attitude of the executives at the ABC network. One can only hope SYFY, FX ro AMC will pick them up, contracts permitting.

I think some shows are just to intelligent for most people. People like easy, action and not very smart shows. See what happened to “touch”, first season was great, then in order to adapt to an audience that wanted action became completely vulgar. I loved Zero Hour! It reminded me of a lot of god books i read and it had everything, a smart story, action, original script, and a way of telling the story that surprises you with the unpredictable.
It is more a more difficult to find original story’s that surprise us.

Loved Zero Hour. It simply did NOT belong on ABC. If it had aired on Fox or SYFY, it would have found a ready made audience. Eventually it’ll make it to Netflix, so at least we’ll get to finish the season. Last Resort kicked butt, too. Two smart shows with great casts…

Firefly revisited. Hope another network picks up Zero Hour. I thought the show was great and should have gained a large audience following. I was hooked by the first episode.

I was hoping that I could watch something with mystery and intrigue without it involving drugs and murder and con artists for money and power sake alone; but unfortunately I am mistaken and very disappointed.

Loved this show, my husband and myself watched it every week and couldn’t believe it when they cancelled it. You would think they would give it a chance. Hope somebody brings it back. It’s a good show.

My mom and I were really enjoying this show. We had our DVR to record all new episodes after the first episode aired. I am so disappointed that it was cancelled. They say that 18-49 didn’t enjoy the show…well I’m 22 and I enjoyed this show as well as did some of my friends. I hope some other network picks it up!

I can’t believe this show has been cancelled ! It was one of the most interesting shows on T.V. The networks just don’t give enough time for the shows to catch on. I loved this show, and some of my friends had not even heard of it. They just started to watch it, and loved it and it stopped playing. PLEASE bring it back, not everyone like those stupid reality shows, some of us do have some intelligence !!!

You networks are really upsetting me, and it’s not just old people that watch this show! I’m 14.5 and me and my friends love this show. Every week we would take turns at each others house to watch this show. America is becoming a weak country because of the rubbish you put on television for young people to watch. That’s why many of them have no since. So please for me and my friends put ZERO HOUR back on the air. And it’s very very very matter of fact an excellent show!!!!! PLEASE
