canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Zero Hour: Pulled; Is the ABC Show Cancelled?

by Trevor Kimball, March 1, 2013

zero hour canceled? It looks like ABC is pulling Zero Hour off their schedule, at least for next week. The fourth episode of the new TV series had been scheduled to air on March 7th but the listing’s been removed from ABC’s press site.

Zero Hour debuted on February 14th to a disappointing 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.38 million total viewers. Week two saw the numbers drop to a 1.1 rating and 5.39 million and last night’s installment fell to a 1.0 rating with 5.05 million.

We’re waiting to hear if ABC is pulling the series for good or just temporarily. Either way, the show won’t be getting a second season.

Hopefully the network will at least let the five million faithful viewers see the unaired episodes at some point.

UPDATE: Reruns of Shark Tank will air on March 7th and 14th and then ABC will fill the timeslot with season seven of Wife Swap. The remaining episodes of Zero Hour may run this summer. I wouldn’t hold your breath.

What do you think? Do you like Zero Hour? Were you hoping that it would stick around?

Replacing Zero Hour with Shark Tank, seriously? I think their brains were dumped in a shark tank! I enjoyed Zero Hour. It is pure entertainment. Come on guys give it a chance. ABC put it in a horrible time slot. I always stream it later to watch. Move it to another time slot DON’T CANCEL IT!!!

I am upset that Zero Hour was canceled. I like ABC. I wish that they would give Zero Hour a chance. If they don’t like it this season, put it on in the summer. It is a great show with a stellar cast. I don’t watch Shark Tank or Wife Swap. Please reconsider taking away a good family show. DON’T CANCEL IT!!!!!!

Replacing “Zero Hour” with “Wife Swap”. Really!!! They should give “Zero Hour” a different night. Thursday’s are a nightmare going against comedy stalwart “Big Bang Theory”. At least let them finish up the storyline like “Last Resort”. It was just getting interesting. These unscripted crap shows should have their own network so the decent scripted shows have a chance.

This is one of the best shows on tv , I can’t believe it’s being cancelled. This Zero Hour is intriguing and something new and different not the same old program and situations getting repeated under new names.

No wonder this world has so many problems. WE all need to fight for BETTER TV. Maybe if we are forced to watch something that makes us think instead of all this MINDLESS stuff. Come on People look through a TV guide, what is it that we are watching, game shows, how other people live their lives, comic shows of filth and we wonder why the world is the way it is. Some commercials are like watching a porn show. We are the PROBLEM look at your cable bill how much of what you pay for do you watch, so… Read more »

this is due to the boycott from soaps fans who have been boycotting ABC since 2011…..ABC will deny there is a boycott, but believe me there is one….I am a boycotter myself…..ABC’s ratings have slipped since, and many shows have gotten the boot because of the boycott, if you think there is no boycott, then you are as foolish as ABC….

Even if the ratings suck, they will beat reruns of freakin Shark Tank. Give the show a chance to pick up an audience.

so tired of hearing about 18 to 49 yr old. People over 49 DO watch tv and buy the products that are advertized. This is a good show and should be given a chance.

REALLY??? how many times are you going to do this to us? ABC puts out a good show and as soon as they hook someone on a new good show.. they cancel it. This has been going on for a couple yrs now and it is making my family think about boycotting ABC. I mean you leave crap like dancing with the stars on but cancel good shows like zero hour and harry’s law just to mention a couple. Where are they getting their rattings? are they counting the ppl that DVR or watch online?

I dont think you understand how ratings work, you and your family watching the show doesnt count towards the ratings unless you are a nielsen family. Nielsen does the ratings, they choose a random sample of 26,000 households, so roughly 100,000 people with families and such, and base their ratings off of that. So you or i or anyone commenting who watches this show has no effect on the ratings. The ratings are based off of live + same day dvr only in nielsen households, and they dont count people who watch it on the internet streaming but then again… Read more »

You don’t quite seem to understand statistics. The margin for error is a lot smaller. You take a sample population, and use it to correlate to the population as a whole. Not only does this give you more accurate results (people have been trying for years to amend the US Constitution so that the Census is done this way), but it’s also less costly. You don’t really think they called everybody in the country in order to determine Presidential approval ratings, likely voting outcomes, or how many people might actually go to the new Sonic over on Main Street, etc.… Read more »

This show is good to watch, but it can’t even compete in that time slot. Big Bang theory is one of the most watched shows on network TV. Nothing can survive against it.
