canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Black-ish: Season One Ratings

Published: May 22, 2015

Black-ish TV show on ABC ratingsABC continues their search to find a new hit family sitcom for Wednesday nights. So many have failed and been cancelled. Will Black-ish be the next to go or will it be a success in the ratings and be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.

On Black-ish, patriarch Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) begins to wonder if his success has caused him and his family to lose touch with their roots. The rest of the family is played by Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, and Laurence Fishburne.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/8 update: ABC has renewed Black-ish for a second season.

Final season averages: 2.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.10 million total viewers.

Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.

Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

How are your shows doing in the ratings? Check the current rankings:
A&E | ABC | AMC | Bravo | CBS | CMT | The CW | FOX | Freeform | FX | FXX
Hallmark | HBO | History | MTV | NBC | OWN | Showtime | Starz | Syfy | TBS
TNT | TV Land | USA Network | WGN America

What do you think? Do you like the Black-ish TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Anthony Anderson needs a smaller wife with less mouth and more control in her quiteness. Ross it too big in physical size for anderson. A big loud man with a small wOman in control is funny. The kids? Anderson is too funny, grown and sexy for young kids and to be himself. In the past, they put him with older woman from show Amen and he was not able to be the natually funny man he is with old school church parents. Anderson is so funny without a script. Cast him in something where he can be himself. Same goes… Read more »

I remember when Flip Wilson, Dick Gregory, Red Foxx, & other established black comedians said ‘racist’ things, with very little negative backlash. However, “Black-ish” seemsta make such commentary on purpose, and not part of a comedy routine such as those I mentioned above delivered.

Anyway, this show sux, is about as funny as a flat tire in bad weather, and once viewers’ curiosity is satisfied, I believe it’ll quickly tank.

I agree, years ago the characters made comments because it was part of who they were. it was not the premise of the show. Blackish is built around the comments.

The old one was a show with racist comments. the new program is racist comments that they try to build a show around. You could take the comments out of All in the Family, Jeffersons, Sanford and Son and still have a show. Take the comments out of Blackish and there is no show.

TAKE THIS OFF TV. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ABC PUT THIS RACIST SHOW ON TELEVISION. ANTHONY ANDERSON, TRACEE ELLIS ROSS, AND LAWRENCE FISHBURNE should be ashamed to be associated with a show of minstrel status. There is no need for a second episode. If the intent is to show a race of people in a negative way, congrats ABC you achieved your goal.
REMOVE IT FROM THE LINEUP.

several years ago when Tiger won the Masters another golfer was crucified when he said the celebratory dinner would be fried chicken. so is it ok now for me to say fried chicken is black people food? cause that’s what fishburne said right?

oh when a white guy says it, he’s a racist. when black guy says it, he’s keepin it real.

same as 40 yrs ago when archie bunker said something, george jefferson called him a bigot, only to say the exact same thing five minutes later while keepin it real. wow, we have come exactly no where in four decades.
