CBS Announces Holiday Programming

CBS TV shows‘Tis the season for turkey, pumpkin spice lattes, and holiday television. CBS will be there to help with the last one. Today, the network announced its holiday programming lineup, which begins November 24th.

The schedule includes holiday episodes of CBS’ primetime series: The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and Scorpion.

The season begins with a Thanksgiving episode of NCIS on November 24th and wraps up with a holiday double header of Mom and Life in Pieces on December 17th.

In addition to the primetime series, CBS will be airing some holiday specials throughout the season. These include the Victoria Secret Fashion Show on December 8th, an I Love Lucy Christmas Special on December 23rd and a slate of some classic holiday movies like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (December 1st) and Frost the Snowman (November 28th).

CBS CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH FESTIVE EPISODES

CBS’s primetime series get festive with holiday-themed storylines in episodes of THE BIG BANG THEORY, LIFE IN PIECES, MOM, NCIS, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS and SCORPION, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 24.

These original episodes join the previously announced holiday specials and beloved classics, including THE VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW (Tuesday, Dec. 8, 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), I LOVE LUCY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL (Wednesday, Dec. 23, 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER (Tuesday, Dec. 1, 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), FROSTY THE SNOWMAN (Saturday, Nov. 28, 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), THE STORY OF SANTA CLAUS (Saturday, Nov. 28, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and THE FLIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (Saturday, Dec. 12, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

Following is the schedule of CBS’s primetime series with holiday-themed storylines:

TUESDAY, NOV. 24

NCIS (8:00-9:00 PM)

“Blood Brothers” – In the hopes of sparing a family further tragedy, the Secretary of Defense calls on NCIS to help a sailor battling leukemia locate a bone marrow transplant after his two Marine siblings are killed in the line of duty. Also, Bishop returns home to Oklahoma for the Thanksgiving holiday. Lindsay Wagner guest stars as Barbara Bishop, Special Agent Bishop’s mother.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (9:00-10:00 PM)

“Billy and the Kid” – The murder of a Marine provides new clues in the first case Pride and Lasalle ever worked together, a murder just before Hurricane Katrina struck the city and washed away all the evidence. Also, the team celebrates the Thanksgiving holiday together at Pride’s bar.

MONDAY, DEC. 14

SCORPION (9:00-10:00 PM)

“Dam Breakthrough” – On Christmas Eve, Team Scorpion must prevent a catastrophe when torrential rains create a large crack in a dam, threatening to wipe out an entire town in its wake.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES (10:00-11:00 PM)

“Cancel Christmas” – When a suspected North Korean spy is poisoned and hit by a truck carrying Christmas trees, the team must search for who is responsible for smuggling spies into the country. Also, Deeks and Kensi try to find a way include their mothers in their Christmas plans, and Hetty notices that Granger isn’t feeling the holiday cheer.

TUESDAY, DEC. 15

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (9:00-10:00 PM)

“Blue Christmas” – A string of Christmas burglaries turns deadly and the evidence leads the NCIS team to Wade’s adopted son, Danny. Also, Lasalle and Brody tease Sonja about the high stakes of drawing Pride in the team’s Secret Santa holiday exchange.

THURSDAY, DEC. 17

LIFE IN PIECES (8:31-9:01 PM)

“Lice Stealing College Caroling” – Colleen joins John and his Air Force buddies for his annual tradition of dirty Christmas caroling. Also, Joan tries to hijack Lark’s first Christmas from Jen and Greg, and Samantha gets lice from a mall Santa.

MOM (9:01-9:30 PM)

“Horny-Goggles and a Catered Intervention” – Christy and Bonnie try to be supportive when Regina tells them she doesn’t think she’s an alcoholic, and Wendy tries to convince the women to attend a sober holiday dance.”

I wish CBS should bring The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular back to prime time and it hasn’t been on the air in seven years. Why would the execs at CBS Daytime forgot about it and why the producers of the iconic game show didn’t have the brains and guts to do so?
