Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
My husband and I was just talking about when the Cedar Cove was coming back but I now am disappointed it wont be returning. I have been reading the Cedar Cove Series books and was nice to put faces on some of the people in the stories. Please re-consider bringing it back for us Hallmark TV series lovers!!
NO, I was so looking forward to season 4 to see what happened. Please re-consider this show. I really loved the story lines, the characters, the beautiful scenery.
I think there should be a conclusion to this series. I truly enjoyed watching Cedar Cove!
I am so very disappointed and saddened to hear that Cedar Cove will not be returning! I just loved this series! Won’t you please reconsider and bring it back?!
I really liked the show and am very sad that it ended. I looked forward to it coming back. It was so beautiful and one of my favorites. I wish Hallmark station will keep it on.
I’ve enjoyed watching Cedar Cove and saddened to learn of its cancellation. Executives, please reconsider bringing back this well written, scenic, and heartwarming program.
Atleast do some closure don’t leave it hanging
I really looked forward to each episode of this show! The setting and characters were able to take a small town Girl from the Southeast and show her what it was like to live in the town of Cedar Cove. Even if the story is fiction!
The storyline was never dull and it was a distraction from everyday life as their drama unfolded each week!
I can only hope that someone will allow “closure” on this wonderful story!!!
Please consider a conclusion episode!!!
Very disappointed that Cedar Cove was cancelled. I really hate it when networks cancel a show and leave you hanging. Thank God I read the books!
I hated to see Cedar Cove cancelled. I really, really liked the show. I just wish that when a show is not going to come back to stay, that they would at least return long enough to finish the story. It makes me not want to get wrapped up in any of their shows because you never know if you will get to see an ending. My wish would be to bring it back with the original actors. It was a great show. I loved it.
This is exactly why we cancelled our cable. No loyalty to shows or fans. I loved Cedar Cove and the people that lived there. Why can’t the networks at least do a wrap up? Shows how much they appreciate their audience, right? I will never again support any network.
This is EXACTLY how I felt.
I think it should have season 4 to finish the storyline. I liked the show.
I loved Cedar Cove. I was sad to learn it had been canceled, I thought it was a smart, well written story. I love her books and this brought it to life. Don’t understand why more people didn’t take to the show. Wish it was still on and with all the original characters!
I would love for Cedar Cove to come back to Hallmark. It was terrible the way fans were left hanging please bring it back
Really loved the show, will miss it very much.
