A certain rapper has had his career cut short. FX has cancelled Chozen after one season of 10 episodes.
This animated comedy follows Chozen, a gay white rapper who’re recently been released from prison. He’s now got a new message and is on a quest for redemption, to claim his rightful position as the world’s top rap artist. Chozen stars Bobby Moynihan as the voice of the title character. Others in the Chozen cast include Hannibal Buress, Michael Peña, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn, and Method Man.
The series debuted in January to 946,000 viewers with a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Viewership dropped about 30% in week two and got worse for subsequent episodes. The season finale on March 31st hit a new low with 451,000 viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.
Though the cable channel is still committed to putting out original scripted content, the ratings were too low to mandate a second season of Chozen.

The series is amazing , yes it has strong language , but it was a new kind of comedy , and it’s audiance where just starting Picking up ! I don’t know how the audiance percentage is calculated , but everyone I knew was getting into it .
There are many series on market that have worse language and script , ‘ Chozen ‘ was a new type of comedy with fresh insights of how community thinks and reacts around some aspects gay comedy , should have allowed to go on .
Best show ever!!! Not Gay or a fan of gay comix but this show was epic!!! I loved this show, couldn’t wait for the second season and boom! You shoot me in the back and cancel it. The show dident suck, the guys who canceled it do!

I’m a big chozen fan and I can’t believe that it got canceled it was funny a funny show and the people who canceled it have no taste of what funny is
Should have never been cancelled. It was top notch and the season finale left me wanting MORE
I watched all of this and saw it as the Metalocalypse of rap, very disappointed that it got cancelled but I understand where the broadcasters are coming from, if it gets low ratings and a small fanbase it’s not financially viable, though I’d definitely donate to a kickstarter if FX would allow fans to fund it, or sell it to Netflix or some company that WILL air it.
This show was awesome and I agree with each of the positive reviews, first cartoon with good rap music and really funny also. Should be making a second season with a dif time slot for those who work but enjoy funny shows and rap. Also relatable to those who’ve been to jail or prison or have a rap dream. This show was awesome. I didn’t like the time slot at all, and I was almost never able to watch it live as a result of the time. However, I religiously DVRed it and would watch the reruns if I ever happened to see them on. I’ve watched the series through probably four to five times. It is such a shame that this won’t see another season.
I toughed my way thru em all and it had a nice finish. Was way to heavy on the gay stuff most of the time, other than that ended strong.

I’m not surprised. It had the potential to be something quite unique but it failed to deliver. I quit watching after 4 or 5 episodes.
They really need to put it back on the air. If the execs at the network actually did research themselves once in a while they would see there’s a huge fan base. The networks demographics only show when “they” put the show on and people chose to watch it. Not when the people chose to watch it when it was convenient for them. If they made their shows more readily available via streaming and ran those demographics, they would see that they were not only wrong on this show. Never watched the show but now you can replace it with REVOLUTION from the idiot network NBC, I WOULD WATCH !!!
