canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Justified, Archer, Chozen, The Americans, Legit: Coming in Early 2014

by Trevor Kimball, November 5, 2013

Justified TV showFX has announced that several of their shows will be returning or premiering early next year.

Season five of Justified will kick off on Tuesday, January 7th, at 10pm. The cable channel has ordered 13 episodes once again. This season, Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) confronts the Crowes, a deadly, lawless family from Florida intent on settling in Harlan with new criminal enterprises in mind. Meanwhile, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) struggles to free his imprisoned fiancée Ava (Joelle Carter) as he partners with the Dixie Mafia’s Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns).

Animated comedy Archer will return for its fifth season of 13 episodes as well. It comes back on Monday, January 13th, at 10pm. Archer revolves around the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Adam Reed, and Lucky Yates.

A new animated comedy, Chozen, is set to follow Archer at 10:30pm. “Chozen” is a gay white rapper who’s fresh out of prison. Armed with a new message, He’s on a quest for redemption and to claim his rightful position as the world’s top rap artist. The voice cast features Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, Michael Pena, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Hahn, and Method Man. There are 13 episodes. This show had been slated to run on FXX.

Season two of The Americans is expected to premiere sometime in February.

Over on FXX, comedy Legit will return for its 13 episode second season in February, paired with the debut of Ali G: Rezurection. The latter includes new introductions starring Baron Cohen, along with the episodes of Da Ali G Show that never aired on American television and The Best of Ali G. The Da Ali G Show debuted on Channel 4 in the U.K. in 2003.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to any of these premieres?

FX has some amazing shows….SOA, Justified, The American’s to name a few…The only good part of SOA season ending, is knowing Justified starts soon after…Smart folks at FX.

Absolutely love Justified, every season is fresh, smart and full of great sarcastic humor…in the midst of the most compromising situations…Hope it returns for many more years..

Chozen….gay, white rapper fresh out of prison…..really??? Is this the best we can do nowadays for entertainment? It’s truly hard anymore to find something worth watching on TV. And why do so many new shows coming out have to have GAY overtones? Just because the actor is gay doesn’t mean the show has to evolve around the gay community. We aren’t all gay, now, are we??? Although, I do enjoy watching Eric Stonestreet on Modern Family….he’s a scream. And straight!
