As predicted, ABC quickly cancelled Work It and is now giving that sitcom’s Tuesday timeslot to Cougar Town. Season three kicks off on Valentine’s Day at 8:30pm.
Last November, ABC cut Cougar Town’s season order from 22 episodes down to 15 because they’d planned to bring it back in the spring. There’s no word if this scheduling move will mean that the alphabet network will restore part of their original installment order.
Until Cougar Town returns, the 8:30pm timeslot will be filled by Last Man Standing reruns. ABC recently ordered two more episodes of the Tim Allen comedy, bringing the season total to 24 installments.
Here’s the press release from ABC that announces Cougar Town’s return:

Yes! Finally!!!! ABC, just give the fans what they want….more Penny Can! (maybe there’s a cow bell in the penny can)
Yayyayy! I agree with Craig. JUST run Cougar Town – forget the other crap!! Love it.
Cougar Town seems to be ABC’s Rules of Engagement. When the bad shows get cancelled, it gets called up. ABC would have been smarter to just put Cougar Town on the schedule and not subject us to Work It or the other cancelled shows.
WHOO HOO!!! IT’S ABOUT FRIGGIN TIME!!! PENNY CANNN!!
