Despite the success of Criminal Minds, it looks like one of its spin-offs has failed to take hold. Recently, CBS revealed they’ve cancelled Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders after two seasons.
A crime procedural, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders revolves around the International Division of the FBI which investigates crimes and rescues Americans in peril abroad. The cast includes Gary Sinise, Alana De La Garza, Daniel Henney, Tyler James Williams, and Annie Funke.
Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders began with low ratings, and season two has dipped even further. So far, the season is averaging a 0.84 rating in the 18-49 demo and 4.99 million viewers, making it one of CBS‘ lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season. It seems the network hasn’t found a successor to Criminal Minds just yet.
However, despite low ratings, the show does have a loyal-if-small fan base. When we asked viewers if they thought Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders should be renewed, 79% said “yes.” Sadly, the fate of the series is beyond their control.

I have to wonder how much on demand showings factor into ratings. I personally have not time to catch anything in the evening and I am not alone. I watch most shows on demand, work schedule doesn’t allow time to watch when they air. This was a good show, it seems like lately all the good ones get canceled. So disappointing.
So disappointing. Every time there is something new and fresh – the expectations are skyrocketing ratings out of the gate….or else.
I loved this show. Loved the cast. Had high hopes with Code Black being(rightfully) renewed….but CM:BB cancelled….even lower than desired ratings translates into millions of viewers who are disappointed.

Very disappointing! This was a great show – much better than Criminal Minds. It seems like every new show on CBS lately is cancelled. Pure Genius and Code Black are another two. You need to listen to your fans!
I tried to like this show, but outside of Gary Sinise, there wasn’t much to like for me. I stopped watching partway through season 1. Perhaps Gary can join the original Criminal Minds which has been lagging lately
CBS, How disappointing. The age demographics included Baby Boomers, you’d not be cancelling such a good TV show. Bummer
Very disappointed to see yet another great show from CBS cancelled! First Pure Genius then Code Black, now Criminal Minds Beyond Borders. Clearly not everyone in those demographics are only interested in reality shows with prefabricated drama. Wish CBS would make better choices.

One show worth watching, afraid to see how many others r going to be cancelled. I personally dvr or on demand most of my shows, wonder if that affects the ratings. Keep more of the quality shows and really how many more reality shows do we need?
Code Black will be back if ABC lowers the licencing fee.
Too bad the demographics show people value more blood and gore, more fantasy criminality. This show was more intellectual, international–things not in favor in today’s politics, or crime shows. Too bad we’ll lose the settings abroad and the thoughtful crime solving abroad. Loved the scenery of familiar and new places. Sorry to see you go!

I totally agree! They keep the stupidest shows on tv but when you have a good clean show…little to no profanity…i honestly haven’t heard any vulgar laguage seen anything obscene. back you canceled it…..wow! Bring it back.
