Criminal Minds has already been renewed for a 13th season, but will the whole cast return? Deadline reports stars Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook may be leaving the CBS TV series.
The long-running crime procedural follows a unique team of profilers for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) at Quantico, Virginia. The cast includes Vangsness, Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Paget Brewster, Joe Mantegna, Adam Rodriguez, Damon Gupton, and Aisha Tyler
According to Deadline, both Vangsness and Cook have asked for equal pay with their male co-stars, and so far contract negotiations have reached a dead end. In 2013, the duo successfully negotiated a raise after being paid “less than half of what their male counterparts including Gubler and Shemar Moore were making.”
However, now it’s unclear if the result will be the same. Both Vangsness and Cook have reportedly said they will leave Criminal Minds if their request for equal pay is denied. Neither ABC Studios nor CBS have made a public comment on the negotiations.

Why are these two very vital characters being paid less because they are women? When was the last time the decision makers at CBS looked at a calendar – it’s 2017, not 1950. You should be ashamed. It’s actually a women’s world, but some of you men evidently not smart enough to realize it!

Nope. Too many of the originals gone. I already am not caring for the season we just had.
And of course they should receive equal pay! They should’ve been from the start!
I sure hope they do not leave it’s already been whittled down to just a few of the basic characters it might be the end of the whole show wish say do not cancel it or take some of the favorite characterseB
It goes without saying they should get equal pay! I am a staunch fan of Criminal minds and am looking forward to Season 13!

I probably would still watch, if the storylines were powerful enough. However, it would be a shame to see these ladies go, I enjoy both their characters very much. That said, I believe that if their work is equal to that of the male stars, then they should , indeed, get equal pay.
It’s only fair and their a major part of the show
Stopped watching at the beginning of this season, but I do agree they should receive equal pay. They need to evaluate what other jobs might be available to them though.
I have watched religiously from day 1 of this show. I can actually do without Jennifer and/or Garcia. I think they’re both good but not great actresses and I’m a little sick of the character of Garcia and her wackiness, though I am enjoying her interaction with Luke Valdez. I agree they should be paid equally if they put out equal work – but I don’t think they can be compared to either Matthew Gubler or Shemar Moore.
They should be paid as much as their male counterparts, with the exception of Rossi, who gets top billing. I would probably continue to watch it, but not with as much enthusiasm.
