After 10 seasons, it’s time for David Caruso to turn in his sunglasses. CBS has cancelled CSI: Miami, the first show in the CSI franchise to end.
Starting in 2002, the TV series follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who often use advanced scientific methods to solve crimes. The current cast includes Caruso, Adam Rodriguez, Emily Procter, Eva La Rue, Jonathan Togo, Omar Benson Miller, and Rex Linn.
The ratings for CSI: Miami have declined over the years. Season 10 averaged a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 9.85 million total viewers. That was down from season nine by 13% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 5% in viewership (vs 10.39 million).
While the cop show’s overall viewership is still impressive, advertisers want shows that cater to the demo audience and the network has many shows that attract big overall audiences.

What’s more, after 10 seasons on the air, CSI: Miami is no doubt very expensive to produce and there are already 232 episodes, more than enough to keep running in syndication for many years.
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, suggested that one of the CSI shows might be cancelled this month. The original CSI was already renewed so it was a guessing game to see if Miami or NY would bite the bullet. CSI: NY has reportedly been renewed for season nine.
Of the cancellation news, CBS released the following statement:
CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.

Are you serious?! CSI: Miami is one of the best crime shows on CBS! Why would you want to cancel it? There are so many fans including myself and my husband that STILL enjoy the show. And to cancel it without giving it a proper sending off? There is no closure for the fans…you just abruptly ended it without the ending. That’s not exactly fair for all that love the show. Please consider bringing it back, if for nothing else at least to give it the ending and closure that it deserves and the fans need to see.
I think that it would be great to keep CSI Miami. And I also think they should take advantage of everything that is happening in Miami Dade at this exact moment, Hurricane Irma, and come up with a story line around that. My kids and I love the show and always look forward to watching it together.
I love this show and im really disappointed that cbs is taking csi miami away without giving at least a great ending.
I like this ahow better than any of them thats came out. The only thing i hated was that H. Caine never gets a girl and for very long to have love in his life. The episode where he lost his wife really sucked to see that. Great episode but i was really hoping he would have led a life of love and the ending would’ve been him dying doing his job. Going out in a bang.
I grow up watching this with my grandma when she passed I continued to watch as if she was still with me I hope they return with more seasons I loved it and still do
I love CSI MIAMI and I was so upset when I finished all the seasons, I would love for more seasons to come. I watch it with all my friends and say it’s our “CSI MIAMI date?” We absolutely loved it and watched it for hours at a time.. come back with season 11! ❤️

Yes it’s sad to see csi miami cancelled,it was a very good show and people around the world still watching marathons of the show,that speaks VOLUME!!
