Longtime judge Len Goodman has decided to skip the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars. Will this negatively affect this ABC show’s ratings? The number have been falling for awhile. Could this be the year that the series is cancelled or is it certain to return for season 22? Stay tuned!
Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews return as hosts while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Julianne Hough are back at the judges table. Ray Chew is the bandleader once again.
The celebrity contestants for season 21 are Tamar Braxton, Gary Busey, Nick Carter, Paula Deen, Victor Espinoza, Andy Grammer, Hayes Grier, Bindi Irwin, Chaka Khan, Alexa PenaVega, Carlos PenaVega, Alek Skarlatos, and Kim Zolciak-Biermann.
The dancers are Lindsay Arnold, Mark Ballas, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Derek Hough, Keo Motsepe, Emma Slater, Karina Smirnoff, Anna Trebunskaya, and Louis van Amstel.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
